Before poems can be embroidered on the back of the pillows, two types of stabilizer must be placed in the hoop. Then, a grid and a ruler are used to locate the center placement for the fabric. The fabric is held in place with a temporary adhesive spray, then topped with water soluble stabilizer.

Poem for a pillow back, has a water-soluble stabilizer "topper", to prevent embroidery from sinking into the fabric. Those extra threads, are called jump-stitches. They are trimmed by hand, with tiny cuticle scissors.

Sewing Chubby Memory Bear Legs

Water Soluble Stabilizer is used on top of delicate fabrics, stretch knit fabrics and when monogramming towels. When the embroidery is done, the jump threads are trimmed, between the letteting. Then the fabric is rinsed off, to melt the stabilizer. A warm iron will usually help it dry!

Memory Poem, for the back of the Bears. I had to slow the machine down for this type of stretchy fabric, with terry-like nap. Chop Sticks are used, to help keep top stabilizer in place, so I don't get fingers in the way!
