Fall 🍂 🍁 means poofier fur and longer cuts for alot of your pups!♡
So, this is a friendly reminder to not only brush but COMB!!
Everyday if possible,
"problem areas" as I call them are being the ears and neck, chest area where they wear their harness and back legs around the b***y where they sit!
Comb, Comb. Comb!! 🐾

PRO TIPS- Always use a metal comb, as plastic can cause static and is uncomfortable! SEE PIC

Hike them UP! On a surface such as a table or counter, this will remind them of being at the shop and maybe cooperate better♡

Taking your dog OFF LEASH to a vet/groomer is NOT a good idea especially when you have NOT worked on RECALL!!!

They often do not want to come inside immediately, sometimes they do and that's great but never assume they're headed for the lobby to my house on Saint Charles Boulevard.

The first dog to get hit in front of my buisness is going to be tragic and horrific and will quute honestly bring alot of heat to my name and reputation as a safe place to be, all because this new "impressive" off leash trend you OWNERS are doing!!

This almost happeed tonight but I was paying attention.
The next scenario might not he so fortunate so this is how throw my hands up and beg you people to LEASH YOUR DOGS.
I don't even know how to be nice about it, commen sense should step in but instead I'm preaching it.
Disappointing.
I will say it every time, I am an ANIMAL advocate. Even if it hurts human feelings.

Bringing them anywhere on a busy highway off leash with zero recall training isn't ok.

As a professional dog groomer I would like to shed some light on something I see slipping through the cracks more often than not.
Dental care for a dog is highly important for longevity and overall health. A dog's mouth will be filled with plaque and painful teeth if left unattended to.
I know how busy we all are, and in our downtime we're not thinking about the doggy dentist, this is absolutely not a "shaming" post.
I understand how it gets pushed to the back burner.
My hope is to be a remimder, a dialouge opener, or whatever' have- you to help the community understand and focus a little bit more on professional dental care for their dog.

I see senior dogs that haven't had a cleaning in years that have swollen, painful mouths and there isnt anything a vet can do at that point, they will not put a senior dog under anesthesia for a teeth cleaning , it is too risky. The chews and sprays and pastes are all great, use them! But having a professional cleaning (I believe once a year, ask vet)
is ESSENTIAL.
The fact that senior dogs can't be helped is enough of a reason to keep up with doggy dental care throughout their lives.

If you do not do this for your dog they will have a chronic painful mouth for the later years of their life.
Please 🙏 take the time, spend the money, take care of your dog's mouth♡
