Whole-body waggin’ 😍
Bruce will wag his whole body for a treat!
Shelby found canine Demodex mites by performing a skin scrape. Demodex is a type of mange that causes hair loss. It is a parasitic mite that lives in the hair follicle. It can be seen under the microscope and has a cigar appearance. Surprisingly, it often doesn’t make the patient very itchy. It is often passed to puppies from their mother, but it is not considered contagious to other dogs or humans. It is easily treated with oral flea and tick meds (isoxazolines). #creepycrawlies
Riding in style with a donut e-collar ❤️ We love our patients!
Bitzie came in today stylin’ 😎😎😎
Oscar knows sign language!
Our newest receptionist, Kennedy, brought her sweet friend, Oscar, in today. She shared his impressive tricks with us! Oscar is deaf, and people often thought he was a bad boy because he didn’t listen. But once they discovered that he couldn’t hear them, Kennedy and her family taught him sign language. As you can tell, he is thriving now! ❤️❤️❤️
Ear mite cytology
Shelby captured this cool video of ear mites under the microscope. The scientific term for ear mites is Otodectes cynotis. Signs of ear mites in dogs and cats are dark, waxy ear debris, very itchy ears, and scabs around the ears. They are contagious between household pets. Simply watching this video makes us itchy!
