Where are we now?

HOLLY really did go work at a law firm. (Turner, Rasch, & Martin-look them up if you have legal needs, they’re really GOOD people!) But ultimately, her heart was still with the dogs. She’s now grooming at CHENAL VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL located at 18 Rahling Circle in Little Rock. (501) 821-0049 to schedule.

MAT has continued his mobile business and has expanded his services to include Little Rock house calls. Though he doesn’t have a van, if you provide a tub and temperature controlled space for him to work, he’s happy to come to you to groom your doggos! (501) 287-7098 to schedule.

KAYCE was hired as the founding groomer at CAMP HAPPY TAILS located at 2402 Military Road in Benton. Also a boarding and daycare facility, Kayce’s warmth and experience have been the perfect combo to get their grooming department off the ground. (501) 776-2509 to schedule.

TORI, in addition to being a dog lover, is an exotic/reptile expert and is now a pet care specialist at Safari Pets in Cabot, though she does still take the occasional grooming client on the side!

ATTENTION
Barkansas has had an awesome two years! Thank you to everyone who’s shared your fur babies with us. Little Rock really does have the best people and the best pets. That’s why we’re so sad to announce that we will be closing at the end of the month. Short notice, we know, but truthfully, we’re tired. Having to move unexpectedly, staffing issues, changes in personal family circumstances…we’ve decided to bow out now with dignity and grace rather than try to keep fighting what’s maybe meant to be. We apologize to anyone we’re letting down and are still proud to be recognized as some of the best groomers in the city. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again. Phase II complete - now accepting boarding reservations beginning July 24!

Things to know:

1 - Boarding drop-off is between 7:30-9:30AM M-F and pick-up is between 3:30-5:30PM M-F in order to prevent overcrowding and allow us time to clean and sanitize thoroughly between guests.

2 - Our introductory boarding rate is $35 per pet per night. This includes a single pet suite or a sibling suite. Food, water, and bedding are provided. (Although you’re welcome to bring your own if you’d prefer.)

3 - We’re currently able to accommodate small and medium dogs only. (We estimate up to 50lbs.) While all dogs will be taken out for individual walks and potty breaks, pets must be able to fit comfortably in a large kennel in order to board.

We specialize is providing practical, stylish cuts for active pets with busy owners!

We have a new little member of the Barkansas family, meet baby W! Her mom/Barkansas’ owner, Holly, will be in and out for a while until she’s cleared to start grooming again, but Mat and Tori are still in the shop and accepting appointments!

In these last couple of business hours on Cantrell, we just want to say…THANK YOU to everyone who’s helped us get this location off of the ground. We’ll sincerely miss everyone who isn’t able to follow us out to Kanis. Even more than that though, THANK YOU to everyone who’s supported us through this expedited transition. We can’t wait to show you all our new home! (And thank you John and Pam-puppy for the cookies!)

We had a blast yesterday at Barkus on Main hanging out with so many old friends and new! It was so great meeting all the fun families and getting to PET ALL THE DOGS! 😍
