Curly Loves This Toy!
Curly, one of my 3 rescues - called the Three Stooges - was so lethargic when our rescue got him 4 weeks ago. After treatment for ringworm and malnutrition, he's now got the energy to really play.

My three rescue cats are now starting to play, after 4 weeks of treatment for ringworm and malnutrition.
Cat Bath for Ringworm
As a follow-up to my post last week on Larry, Mo and Curly, our 3 foster cats with ringworm -

Today’s post is about treatment for ringworm and malnutrition in rescued cats. Mo had a large bald spot where all his fur fell out from the ringworm. All 3 cats had scabs around their ears and eyes.
Now the boys’ fur is growing back, after the first cycle of ringworm medicine (oral solution given in 3 cycles over 5 weeks!) and several baths and dips in Lime Sulfur shampoo. I’ve attached a video of the process involved in bathing Larry. The cats don’t like it and neither do I (the rotten egg smell permeates the room, the laundry, and my hands, even with rubber gloves). But it’s the best topical remedy for severe ringworm.
The kitties are gaining weight and obviously feeling better. Colony cats that are malnourished need high protein and extra calories, as well as high fiber to manage GI issues; we use a mix of prescription cat foods to address these needs.
What’s next for Larry, Mo and Curly? More medicine, special food and another bath/dip this week to continue their rehabilitation. Then a follow-up vet appointment to check weight and gauge progress toward recovery.
