Promote adoption of fostered cats and kittens in Central Arkansas, through proper vetting, preparation, and partnership. A Welcome Home Animal Rescue (Central Arkansas Chapter) is committed to connecting people with cats. Great option to support charities like Central Arkansas Rescue Transport or Central Arkansas Chapter, A Welcome Home Animal Rescue, if you're facing Required Minimum Distributions this tax year!

Are you facing Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from your traditional IRA, resulting in higher income taxes for 2024? Want to support a charity like Central Arkansas Rescue Transport at the same time?
Don’t delay! You can avoid higher taxes by making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) to deduct the RMD on your tax return. A QCD allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking the RMD. This is a great way to donate to your favorite charity. Check with your tax and/or investment advisor; the investment provider that holds your IRA must process the QCD to be paid directly to the 501(c)(3) organization of your choice. Time is running out for the 2024 tax year.
Read more about QCDs at the IRS link listed in the comments.
And please consider CART for your 2024 donation!

Anyone available to drive a single puppy form Bryant to Fort Smith next Monday afternoon, October 14th, to catch a transport to Minnesota!? Gas stipend provided by CART.

UPDATE: We have found a driver!!! Thanks to all who shared and helped get the word out!

Attn Road Warriors!! Fuel stipend has been offered by CART (See details below!)

Interested in taking a road trip with a single shelter pup (and maybe a few kittens in a single carrier) to the Ft. Smith area for a lifesaving transport?

We have a short transport tentatively scheduled for October 14th with an arrival time being 6pm. Unfortunately, our regular drivers can't make it. It will be a single puppy, less than 10 lbs in size & a litter of 3 kittens in a single crate. The cats must be crated during transport, but the pup can be held or crated, your choice.

If you are interested, please email Director Tricia Power at [email protected] and she'll get you more details as we have them.

The volunteer(s) will have to:
1) Sign a waiver of liability
2) Provide your own vehicle

Some other important details:

You may provide your own clean and disinfected crate, or we will provide it for you, and they must be returned to the shelter after transport. If provided by the volunteer, it must be a travel crate (wire crate is not allowed per our guidelines.)

All paperwork will accompany the animals, and you must agree that no food or treats will be given during the transport accept those provided by the shelter.

This is family friendly opportunity, so you can bring a friend or family member along (just no other pets.) We looking forward to hearing from you!

🚨DOG FOSTERS NEEDED ASAP!🚨

The dogs at the Little Rock Animal Village 🐕have a big favor to ask you! 🥹

We need 20 short-term fosters during our home improvement project!

The shelter has been going through some much needed renovations, and brand new kennels and floors are being installed. Some of the dogs will be displaced during this time.

Potential fosters should fill out an application at this link: http://surl.li/rwvjh

They will have to be approved before fostering.

Fosters do have to live in Little Rock, and the animals will be sterilized before leaving the shelter.

Our volunteer coordinator will contact you as soon as possible after you submit your application, then you can plan a time to pick out your pup! The dogs will need to be fostered for 2-4 weeks. There are at least 100 to choose from.

Thank you for your continuous support. Please share and reach out if you are able to foster!
