Out of the Woods was established in 2007 by Kathy Woods along with Shawn Schouweiler. OOTW is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c) (3) organization.

Our focus is assisting animals and people who help animals in areas where Municipal services are not available. We receive no funding from the federal, state, or county governments, nor from any corporate entity. We are a network of volunteers who allow our rescued dogs and cats to live with us in foster care until they are adopted.

Griffith, R***r, Ember & Dax, along with 87 other amazing pets are available for adoption! Please Share!!!!

Griffith is an adorable 23 week old male kitten. He is playful and social and would add so much love to your home.

R***r is a five year old (50lb) gentleman who made his way to us as stray. He is the sweetest!!! He appears potty trained as he waits at the door to do his business. He is great with his Fosterer’s dogs, cats and chickens. He is gentle on a lead and takes correction well.

Ember is a 9 month old, 15lb, Rat Terrier mix and I don't understand how someone hasn't snatched her up. She is the most adorable pup in looks and personality. Ember is a brave little adventurer! She loves to explore and climb, but always comes back to your lap for high quality cuddles. She is a smart girl and eager to please, this makes her easy to train.

Dax is a handsome, 2-year-old pup weighing about 80 lbs. This big, beautiful guy is full of energy and loves nothing more than running around a big yard and playing to his heart’s content. He does great in a crate, and when playtime is over, he’s all about affection and snuggles. Dax will need a cat-free home, as he prefers to be the only four-legged star of the show. Because he’s a strong boy, he’ll do best with someone who can handle his strength and give him the exercise he craves.

Penny, Lucy, Fudgie, and Montana, along with 87 other amazing pets, are available for adoption!

These puppies just arrived into the OOTW program after being dumped just south of Little Rock. We jumped into action, put out a plea and by the next morning we had a foster home and these babies were on their ways to a better life!

We have decided these little ones are probably Australian Shepherd mixes and will grow to be around 45 pounds when they are full grown. All are well socialized, playful, adorable and enjoy playing in water (at least when it's hot!)

Freckles, Puppy, Zara and Sadie & Spencer, along with 84 other amazing pets, are needing homes!

Freckles is a 1 year old cutie pie around 30lbs, with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. He may be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and becomes a total lovebug. He adores cuddles, enjoys playtime, and is discovering all the joys of being a beloved pet.

Puppy is around 1.5 years old and around 57lbs. This playful pup has a heart full of affection and a zest for life. Despite being left behind when her previous owners moved, Puppy hasn’t let her past dim her bright spirit. He is housetrained and is good with other dogs.

Zara is a five year old German Shepherd mix around 40lbs. She is the perfect blend of fun-loving energy and snuggle-up calm — whether she’s out on an adventure or curled up for some couch time, she’s happiest just being with her people. 💖 Zara is housetrained and good with other dogs.

Sadie Sue and Spencer are a bonded senior pair. Sadie is likely a collie/pointer/border mix and Spencer is an English Pointer mix. They are both the sweetest dogs and just love to lay outside or cuddle on the couch. They are both good with other dogs and would be a low-maintenance addition to any home.

Travolta, Dotty, Scout and Alvin, along with 85 other amazing pets are needing homes!

Travolta is a 6 month old heartthrob ready to groove his way into your life! He is a quirky little genius who’s mastered the art of dramatic entrances. He adores snuggling like it’s his job, and will do practically anything for a tasty treat 🍗.

Dotty is a 9 month old Beagle/Bluetick Coonhound mix, weighing in at around 35lbs. She has puppy energy and a Blue Heeler mind which means she’d be an excellent adventure partner, ready to go anywhere and everywhere with you, and learn exactly what you want in a best friend. She grew up with small children but was not taught that she is not the leader in the household, so, her instinct is to manage and control chaos. Dotty would do best in a home with a strong leader and without small children.

Scout is an 8 month old Retriever mix who is shy and will need a little extra attention to help her get a bit more relaxed around strangers. She currently weighs around 40lbs and is just looking for someone to just give her a chance!

Alvin is an 18 week old loving, chunky, playful Catahoula Leopard mix pup who is ready to find his new best friend!

Priscilla, Jonathan, Spidey and Theodore, along with 86 other amazing pets, are available for adoption!

Priscilla is a 1 1/2 year old, 50lb, Lab mix who is sweet and loving. She is good with other dogs. She is a bit shy at first and a little fearful of men. Priscilla is fully potty trained and ready to start her new life.

Jonathan is a beautiful 19 week old kitten with a quirky, funny side that will steal your heart! He may be low-key, but he’s full of charm and unexpected antics that will keep you smiling.

Spidey is a 6 month old total sweetheart! He is a black-and-white cuddle ninja with a taste for adventure... and toilet paper. 😅 This high-flying hero loves to climb, leap, and chase invisible villains (aka flies 🪰).

Theodore is an 18 week chunky and loving puppy. He is very playful and ready to be your best friend.

Meet Domino 💕

Domino is an 8-month-old Husky/Shepherd mix who currently weighs about 40 lbs. Life recently took an unexpected turn for this sweet girl—she was surrendered by her owner after a death in the family, and she’s still adjusting to all the changes.

Right now, Domino can be a little shy and cautious as she learns to trust again. But with patience and love, her true personality shines through. Her foster family describes her as both loving and playful, and she’s already showing what a wonderful companion she’ll be for the right home.

Domino is still just a pup, which means she’s eager to learn, grow, and bond with a family who will give her the stability and affection she deserves. With her gentle heart and playful spirit, she’s sure to bring joy to anyone lucky enough to call her theirs.

Buddy Boop and Ollie, along with 88 other amazing pets, are available for adoption!

Buddy Boop and Ollie may not have had the easiest start in life, but their hearts are full of love and hope for a brighter future. These two sweet boys were once cared for by a kind homeless man in Alexander who adored them dearly. When he had the chance to move out of state to reunite with family, he was heartbroken to leave them behind—but he made sure they’d be safe and have a chance at the happy lives they deserve.

Buddy Boop is about 2 years old and weighs around 45 lbs. This gentle boy is still adjusting to his new surroundings, and while he can be a little shy at first, his gratitude shines through in every wag of his tail and soft glance. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his sweet personality blossom—he truly just wants to love and be loved.

Ollie is about 3 years old and weighs around 60 lbs. He’s a big teddy bear who adores people, loves kids, and can’t get enough of snuggles. Ollie is happiest when he’s close to his humans, soaking up all the pets and attention you’ll give him.

Together, Buddy Boop and Ollie are proof that resilience and love go hand-in-hand. They’re ready to find families who will shower them with the kindness they’ve always deserved. Daphne, Cleo, Lulu and Penny, along with 88 other amazing pets, are available for adoption!

Daphne is a beautiful 1 year old. She is a bit shy at first, but once she settles in, she is a sweetheart.

Cleo is a 2 1/2 year old Shepherd mix weighing in at 60lbs. A little shy at first, Cleo has a calm and easygoing nature that makes her a joy to be around. Once she gets to know you, she truly shines—loyal, affectionate, and devoted to her humans.

Lulu is a 69lb, 2 1/2 year old Shepherd mix. If you like to read for hours enjoy football games on TV, work from home, or cuddle on the sofa while you watch Sleepless in Seattle for the tenth time, then this dog might be your soul mate. And if you are like the person described above and already have a cat, Lulu is also good with that.

Penny is a 18 week old very shy but sweet kitten who’s slowly coming out of her shell. While she may take time to warm up, she truly enjoys playing with toys and watching the world from a safe spot. With a little patience and a lot of love, Penny will blossom into a wonderful companion.
