With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.

Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.

If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

Boarding pick up days are the best days.

It was spirit week last week at Deer Creek! Every day was a different theme and we had some great outfits. Thank you to everyone that participated!

Here is a short video of Dr. Kate Eitelman’s kitty--she was a stray brought in a few months back with a fractured leg. Dr. Lupe fixed her leg & Dr. Eitelman fell in love with her & adopted her! She was spayed today & seems to be doing quite well. She rolls about in her kennel any time Dr. Eitelman walks by.
