To all of our Harmony family it is with a very heavy heart we announce the passing of High Flying Cricket "Cricket"

Cricket has been with us since the beginning. He started with us as a very spunky young lad that no one could ride till his little girl came along to tell him his life was going to be amazing, and amazing it was! He has taken many students from learning how to post all the way to major championship competitions. He made it to a whopping (we believe) 37 years young! We will miss you dearly old friend! Happy birthday month to our OTTB boys; Sonny 🐰, Gil 🐠, Reggie 🎩, and Roo 🦘

Did you know ❓ every Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred in the Northern Hemisphere is given the birthday of January 1 in whatever calendar year they are born? This helps the JC simplify their records and decides in what races a horse will run, and when they’re eligible. The dating rule started back in 1751 in England with a date of May 1st. However, the January 1st date became standardized by The Jockey Club in Newmarket, England in 1858. From there, the American racing system adopted this date years later, and still holds true today!

It is officially cold weather riding szn! 🥶 Bundle up when you head to the barn and be sure you’ve got the right gear to make your time outdoors tolerable. Check out these tips put together by Holly, and you can find everything you need at our favorite tack shop, @horsemans.exchange right here in Littleton, MA! ❄️ Layer up! Start with a base layer and then put another form fitting layer on top to keep your warmth in, before adding your outer layer. ❄️ Three words: Winter. Riding. Breeches. Once you get a pair, you’ll never go back. ❄️ Big winter coat! Ever wonder why your instructors look like marshmallows? That waterproof, insulated outer layer will ensure you stay warm and dry. ❄️ Wool socks: keep those toes toasty! ❄️ Winter Riding Gloves: the right pair will ensure you can still have a good feel on the reins while holding in a little warmth, plus those hand warmers we suggest you stuff inside your gloves! ❄️ Winter Riding Boots: while not usually appropriate to show in, these boots will really help keep your feet and legs insulated better than just leather during these cold days at the barn. We have an indoor arena, two outdoor rings, 27 stalls and a heated viewing area to evaluate film. Harmony Horse Stables has been honored with Horse Farm of Distinction award and voted the #1 riding school in MetroWest. Harmony is easily accessible from 495 and Route 2, and is only a mile away from the MBTA Littleton Commuter Rail stop.

For riders in 1st - 12th grade, we offer competitive interscholastic teams in hunt seat and dressage through the IEA & AEL programs.
