As a jackpot show coordinator myself, I know just how much time, effort and money these jackpot shows require to put on and the level of sponsorships is getting tougher each year. As a breeder who markets show cattle to youth exhibitors, I believe it's our responsibility to support these jackpot shows because they allow the kids the opportunity to show their project animal(s) multiple times throughout the year and in doing so gain more experience, knowledge and real-life beneficial skills than they would by only showing once at their county fair. We are happy and honored to support multiple jackpot shows here in California every year. Thank you to the Tahoe Cattlemen's Association for putting on the TCA Jackpot Show!

🏆Congrats🏆 to Cole and Austin Mertens and their family on a very successful county fair experience winning both Champion and Reserve Champion FFA Market steers at the Nevada County Fair this past week! Great job boys!

Dakota Charm’s Godsend

Last year we sorted semen for bull calves on all of our IVF flushes but for once I must admit I’m thankful that we ended up with one heifer out of that group of et calves! She is Dakota Charm’s Godsend. IGWT x Dakota Charm 01c.

I must admit, when this heifer was born I was somewhat disappointed and thot to myself that mating didn’t work how I had planned it too. But, 3.5 months later I’m starting to think otherwise as she continues to develop and them “Horn” genetics are kicking in! Sired by Righteous Business (THF brother to IGWT) x Monopoly Dam

“Righteous Business” at work in the pastures at Dillabo Livestock doing what he does best, siring high quality calves! Little known fact .. he is a THF full blood brother to “In God We Trust”

A typical day at Dillabo Livestock during calving season. During the winter and spring months, our cows graze on a thousand plus acre ranch of native feed in the Sutter Buttes Mountain Range. As they get close to calving, we move them down out of the hills and into a large 100 acre or so meadow that we call the calving pen. There they are checked multiple times. After calving, the pair is moved back up on the mountain range where they will graze through early May.
