Suwannee PAWS, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charitable organization, founded and opened in 2014. We moved to our new larger facility in October of 2018. Our services are available to everyone, regardless of county of residence. The main goal of SPI is the reduction of pet overpopulation and animal shelter euthanasia by promoting affordable, early-age spay and neuter services in the Southeast. We focus on exceptional surgical care at a reduced cost, but we are not necessarily the cheapest among other low-cost programs. We offer a great compromise of excellent care and a reduced price so that we can still offer the full amenities of a regular veterinary practice for your dog or cat’s surgery. This is an extension of Dr. Daniels’ work at similar organizations in this same field since 2008, she has performed nearly 30,000 surgeries to date and has lived locally in Suwannee County for over 40 years. The business is located on the south end of Live Oak off of Highway 129. Live Oak is a central, accessible location for many via local roads (Highway 90 and US 129), Interstate-10 and Interstate-75. At this time, we are focusing on high-volume reduced-cost spay and neuter (HQHVSN), with additional general outpatient medicine as the schedule allows. We abide by the ASV 2016 Veterinary Medical Care Guidelines for Spay-Neuter Programs at our facility. We would like to reinforce that this is not a substitute for a good relationship that you may already have with a veterinarian of your choice; we are not available after-hours for general emergencies and cannot take in sick or ill animals at the facility, simply due to the large number of animals we will have each day for surgical alteration (including many feral cats). We recommend that sick or severely injured animals go to a traditional full-service veterinary clinic which will have dedicated staff for each sick patient.
We also have a shelter outreach program and a feline adoption program which has exceeded 600 homeless cats and kittens as of early 2019. Our primary goal is to work with private citizens, military families, shelters, rescue groups, and feral/community cat groups to provide sterilization surgery and basic care. Please refer to the main HOME page of this website for an entire section discussing reduced-cost programs and the impact of TNR and SNR for feral and community cats. We welcome new clients and are eager to serve this and surrounding counties even in South Georgia. Please come by, read our literature and become informed about early-age spay and neuter surgery especially in live-saving adoption situations involving a local animal shelter. Thank you for your support in this endeavor as we continue to serve the public in the coming years.
