Our newest TOG rescue, Izzy! This girl is one happy dog. She made the trek to TOG on Saturday, and while settling in nicely is keeping us entertained with her enthusiasm. She’ll be visiting our vet for her checkup, and we’ll hopefully get her cleared for her spay surgery and likely a dental. Izzy has a special talent of standing on her back legs in exchange for treats. Welcome to TOG, little Izzy. If you’re interested in fostering this little sweetheart, please fill out our foster application: http://www.tailsofgray.org/foster.html

New TOG rescue Minnie went in for her checkup, and her bloodwork has come back pretty reasonable. Her loving foster mom says that she is eating better, and is starting to show more energy. She seems to be responding to the antibiotics that she’s on for her cold too. If all goes well, she’ll continue to improve and may even be cleared for her much needed dental. She's a little darling! <3

Thank you, thank you, thank you! As 2016 winds down, we'd like to take a moment to thank our Facebook followers. It's been a big year at TOG. From the new foster families who opened up their homes and hearts to us, the many shared posts, the generous donations, and all of the amazing supportive comments we've received, there hasn't been a day gone by that we didn't appreciate our Facebook Family. None of this could happen without you, so THANK YOU ALL from TOG and all of our senior rescues. Our Tails of Gray wag just for you today.
HOLIDAY WISHES FROM MIYA: Miya wishes for all senior dogs to be considered permanent family members, even during a move to a new home. Miya was returned to the shelter when her family moved away, leaving her behind, and she knows how much that hurts.
OUR WISH: We'd like to SAVE FOUR MORE senior dogs like Miya before January, and are trying to raise $4,000. Won't you help us rescue more senior dogs out of the shelter and into our warm sanctuary this holiday season? Please consider a year-end, tax deductible donation: http://www.tailsofgray.org/donate.html

Michael
This is how Michael feels about it being Friday night.
Sweet dreams, Michael.
We're celebrating Ichigo today! Ichigo is doing better than ever right now. She’s still itchy and needs her medicated baths, but that’s nothing compared to the past. She has more (good) energy than we ever thought possible, and can out-walk any one of us. Yay Ichigo! So much life in this little 10 YO girl.

Gabbana is a mellow, sweet and very quiet dog. She is in a house with two other dogs and a cat, and visits with larger dogs regularly. She is very calm around the other animals and tends to mind her own business, rather than join in on horseplay. She likes to be close to people (including kids) and loves to cuddle with humans - preferring to be on the couch nearby or in bed to snuggle at night.
She is house broken, and either uses the doggie door, or waits patiently to be let out. We think she is about 10 years old and she weighs 11 lbs. Gabby has had many teeth removed so she eats soft food or little bites of dry food. Gabbana will be a nice fit into almost any home. She's as sweet as can be, plus she loves belly rubs!

ABOUT OUR NEWEST RESCUE: We have no idea how our sweet little Caroline ended up in the shelter as a stray. When we met her in her kennel, she flung herself into our arms and that was that! Caroline is a kind girl with great energy. She is good with dogs and cats, and enjoys being in the mix. When she's not up and about, she is a complete lap dog who easily falls asleep for hours as she soaks up the love.

Q: What can $100 do for our senior residents?
A: A lot! $100 will cover chicken for Cynthia for 1 week, Mupirocin for treatment of Ichigo's skin, Denamarin for treatment of Mr. McGee's liver and one initial exam for a new dog.
As we grow our ranks, so do our expenses. If you'd like to support our continued efforts to rescue senior dogs, please consider donating by clicking here: http://www.tailsofgray.org/donate.html

FANTABULOUS FEEL-GOOD FIONA UPDATE! If you've been with us for awhile, you'll remember Fiona, who was adopted out sometime back. Her new family sent us an update, with a picture and a movie. Our favorite golden girl is in love with her mom & pop, her home, her surroundings and her beautiful life. She is doing absolutely fabulous! And while we love hearing about her latest and greatest adventures, her most recent one with a black & white creature called a SKUNK was not as educational for Fiona as everyone would've hoped. She enjoys long runs in the fields with her Dad (see video of this super senior running) and tons of snuggles with her Mom. Her eating habits have improved significantly and she looks wonderful! We miss our “Fiona”, their “Fi”, so much, but are overjoyed to see how happy she is.
So happy Wednesday everyone, and let's celebrate one of our successes today. Good things happen when we team together! :-)
MOLLY PITCHER is making great progress settling into the Tails of Gray sanctuary. We feel that her backend tumor is not much of a bother to her, and are often forgetting it’s even there. Over the weekend she started to go on short walks with us. When she first arrived, she’d just walk backwards trying to get back into the house. Now, she seems to enjoy her surroundings a little more. She’s a very smart dog, showing her playful side, and definitely is earning an A+ in her kitchen supervision skills. Yay Molly! We'll get you wagging that tail in no time now. :-) <3
