✨ New Life on the Ranch ✨

There is nothing quite like watching a calf take its first breath. Last night I had the privilege of witnessing this little one being born. Mama handled it like a pro and both are doing great this morning.

This calf is extra special to us. He is sired by our F1 Wagyu bull and we are so excited to see how he grows. He is already calm, curious, and full of personality.

We raise our beef with intention, care, and heart. From the very first breath to your family’s table.

What would you name him? Drop your ideas in the comments.

We are officially sold out of beef for 2025! We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to welcome new customers this year and to provide so many families with high-quality beef they can truly taste and enjoy.

We’re down to just one lamb left before our August butcher date, so if you’ve been thinking about reserving one, now’s the time!

This is what the finishing phase looks like around here.

Our steers are grain finished but never leave pasture. They live like this right up until the day they are processed. Grazing in the shade, soaking in the sunset, and being cared for like they are family. Because they are.

We believe beef should be raised with intention, not shortcuts. No hormones. No vaccines. No feedlot stress. Just real feed, fresh pasture, and a calm life.

If you have ever wondered where your beef should come from, this is it.

Mr. Pickles Update
I haven’t shared much the past few days as I’ve been under the weather and busy with ranch life, but I wanted to give an update on our little fighter. Mr. Pickles is doing so well!

He was born at just 2.6 pounds on Mother’s Day and is already up to 4 pounds. That’s a big gain for such a tiny lamb and we’re proud of every ounce. There hasn’t been much change in his eyesight yet, but that’s okay. If it improves over time, we’ll be grateful. If not, that’s okay too. Animals adjust beautifully and we’ll be here to support him every step of the way as he grows and eventually joins the flock.

Thank you for cheering him on. He’s a special little guy and we’re so glad to have him.

Lamb Update: One Strong Little Fighter

This tiny preemie lamb is just under 36 hours old and already making big strides. He was born early and extra small at 1191 grams (about 2.6 pounds), but with round-the-clock bottle feeding and warmth, he’s gained 130 grams—a huge win for such a fragile start.

He’s alert, eating well, and showing us he wants to be here. There’s still no improvement in his blindness, but even if his eyesight never comes, he’ll adjust beautifully if he keeps following this path. Lambs are incredibly adaptable with the right care.

Here on our farm, we put the animals first. Gentle handling, comfort, and second chances matter—especially for the fragile ones. This little guy is why we do it the way we do.

He doesn’t have a name yet, but he has certainly owned one! Feel free to suggest your name ideas!

Our little fighter has made it past the 12-hour mark!
This tiny ram lamb was born weighing just 2.6 pounds—less than half the average weight for a full-term twin. He was born to a new ewe who’s only been with us for a week, and we believe he arrived a bit early. He’s currently blind, though it’s too soon to know if it’s permanent. The cause could be his prematurity, a congenital issue, or even a mineral deficiency.

We’ve been giving him every possible chance: he’s had colostrum, probiotics, electrolytes, selenium, B12, and Durazyme, along with warmth, bottle feedings, and constant care. This is the life of a shepherd and a rancher—unpredictable, sometimes heartbreaking, but always full of purpose.

Because we care for our animals so closely and diligently, we’re able to catch these challenges early and respond quickly. It’s a lot of work, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’re rooting for this little guy every hour, and we’ll keep doing everything we can to help him pull through.

This is why we use rotational grazing for our sheep. The area on the left was grazed by our sheep a week ago. The area on the right was just grazed today. By moving our animals through small sections of pasture and giving each area time to rest and regrow, we keep our forage healthy and nutrient-dense. That means our sheep are eating better, staying healthier, and growing stronger. Healthy pastures grow healthy animals—and that leads to better quality meat for your freezer.

We’ve got beef and lamb shares coming up soon, so if you’re looking to stock your freezer with clean, responsibly raised meat, now’s the time to reach out.
