🚨 Wide load alert! 🚨 Margie’s waddling her way toward motherhood, with her calving ETA set somewhere between March and June. She’s one of our top producers and an OG member of the Mills Ranch crew—basically, the queen of the herd.

Here at Mills Ranch, every cow gets the VIP treatment. I personally check on them multiple times a day, so they probably think I’m just another member of the herd by now. This keeps everyone healthy, happy, and calm, so when it’s time to work them, it’s more “smooth operation” than “wild west showdown.” Happy cows, happy rancher!

Feeding the herd in the working pens today! We make it a priority to condition our cattle to move through the working pens regularly, which helps them stay calm and reduces stress. Over time, they get used to the routine and can often navigate the pens on their own. This frequent exposure creates a low-stress environment that’s beneficial for everyone involved.

As a mama of two, having gentle, calm, and happy cows is absolutely essential to our program. I often have a kid or two on my hip while working with the cattle, so creating a safe and relaxed atmosphere is a must. Keeping our cattle comfortable isn’t just about their health—it’s about making sure everyone, including my little ones, stays safe and stress-free. Plus, low-stress handling leads to healthier cattle, better weight gain, and higher-quality meat. It’s a win-win all around!

Save money buying bulk beef & get steak for half the cost than you do in store! All our beef is grass fed grain finished, and live life the way they’re supposed to on large improved pasture. All steers will be finished on grain for at least 120 days before processing.

We are offering eighths, quarters, halves, and whole steers for 2025.

They know the tractor means hay & feed time! Since we have had several inquires, we did want to let everyone know here that last years crop is sold, so no more available until this fall 🐄 🍁

When you tell the girls it’s time for their breakfast they don’t waste any time!

I’d say our bull is pretty gentle! Rowdy just wants his lovings. He is two in a half years old and home bred/raised.

Ever seen a calf try to kick it’s way out? 😅🤣 Poor Fancy! We expect her to calve any day now.

Rowdy, our herd sire, is doing a little bit of celebratory play as his first progeny has hit the ground 🎉 Andy, is our newest bull calf out of Anna and by Rowdy. He will be available when he is weaned! He’ll be a beautiful addition to your pasture!
