What is Shock wave therapy?
You may be familiar with laser therapy devices, which use light waves. The PulseVet Shock Wave System uses sound waves to stimulate tissue and bone healing, reduce painful inflammation and increase blood flow to treated areas. Sound waves are able to pe*****te deeper into tissues and have been clinically studied in human and veterinary medicine for many years. Depending on the condition being treated, 1 - 3 treatments are performed 2 weeks apart and (for chronic conditions) results can last up to 12 months.
Can my pet benefit from Shock wave therapy?
Shock wave therapy can be used to treat several different injuries, instabilities and causes of chronic pain. Because it stimulates healing and reduces inflammation, it can be used to:
Improve bone healing after a fracture or other orthopedic surgery (TPLO, patellar groove surgery, etc.)
Stimulate bone healing in the case of bone non-union or delayed healing, such as after a fracture
Improve healing of tendon and ligament injuries
Reduce pain and inflammation from arthritis and other chronic pain conditions
