Training tip Tuesday.
Crate training. Waylon and I are packing for a trip and I am needing to contain him at different times. What’s my go to? This small crate. This is a pop up crate that folds down small enough for a carry on suitcase. I know the first reaction is usually well my dog will tear right thru that. Yes they will…without training and developing respect for that crate. The first time I used this crate Waylon hamster balled himself to get to me. He wasn’t ready yet for the soft crate. We worked and trained and his respect for this crate is the same as a hard crate. Am I leaving him unattended for hours and hours? No. But when he needs a break he happily goes in this. Our crates, when we use them are houses, no different then when we as humans need a break and want a safe place to veg.
