We had a smaller crew this month for the youth rodeo but they all did a great job! Big thank you to RyLee for coaching the 7-10 kids on Saturday! Micah and Ivie both pulled checks. Micah placed 7th in Poles and 9th in Barrels. Ivie placed 15th in Poles. Abby and Reagan both got new personal best records in barrels! So proud of how hard these kids work, excited for next month's rodeo🐴

Huge shoutout to Micah for pulling her first ever check in Barrels (5th)! Micah also placed in Flags (6th), there were over 60 horses in both classes! We have some new riders and new horses this season, so excited to see where they go from here.

Reagan and Chance had an awesome day at the Ohio Standardbreds and Friends Fall Grande Classic Open Show! She placed in every class she entered and qualified in 3 out of 4 Championship Classes. They brought home 12 medallions and a check. They also won a very nice padded halter! Super proud of this girl and her horse!

🔥🐴🔥BUCKLE ALERT🔥🐴🔥
Ashlyn had a lot of "firsts" this year. She competed in four out of five of the 2024 Southern Ohio Heart of Horsemanship shows this season. She partnered with four different horses (Chance, Kodak, Nash, & Vegas) and earned 16 top three ribbons for the series. She placed in every single class she entered! Some of her classes were small but some of them were huge! It's cool to watch kids show a horse they practice with daily but it's even more cool to see a kid show a different horse at each event! Ashlyn came to my program five years ago for Equine Therapy. She quickly progressed from 20 minute private ground sessions once a week up to several full hour group lessons weekly. I approached Ashlyn about trying EWD and Academy classes at the SOHH series this spring and she agreed to try one but was nervous and cautious about showing away from the barn in front of a lot of people. After coming home with several blue first place ribbons, she agreed to do more. Ashlyn's life with Autism is not easy, but she never shows it. In her young lifetime she has had 20 surgeries! I admire her courage and effort not only with the horses but with the other kids she rides with. She has the best sportsmanship and the kindest heart. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and I'm honored to know her. After a successful first season of showing, Ashlyn brought home the series Highpoint Buckle for Equestrians With Disabilities!!! I am so proud of her!

🔥🐴🔥BUCKLE BUCKLE🔥🐴🔥
Ivie and Bougie had a fantastic SOHH series this year! She competed at every single Southern Ohio Heart of Horsemanship show from May to September this year. Over the span of these five months they earned 66 top eight ribbons, 7 Highpoint Champion ribbons, and 2 Trophy Buckles! I am so proud of this little cowgirl and her pony. They have practiced several times a week, every week, and their improvements have really shown. Ivie has been riding horses for three and a half years, she got her toes wet showing another horse a little over a year ago and loved the experience. Bougie and Ivie have been a team for one year and have quickly bonded. They have competed in several shows together over the past year. This is Ivie's first time ever scoring a buckle and she earned TWO during this series!!!

The kids had their last SOHH show of the 2024 Southern Ohio Heart of Horsemanship series! They brought home many colorful ribbons from this eventful day including 4 big Highpoint Champion ribbons! Throughout the entire 2024 SOHH series, the girls have brought home 161 ribbons, 11 Highpoint Champion ribbons, and 3 Highpoint Trophy Buckles! We love this series and appreciate all the work the volunteers put in to make this series run smoothly. We will be back next season💪🏻

Over the weekend some of our girls went to their third SOHH Open Show of the season. Our little team brought home a few High-Point Ribbons! Big thank you to Southern Ohio Heart of Horsemanship for all their hard work and dedication to put on such a fun day for these kids and their ponies. We had a great time cheering everyone on and hanging out with friends. These days are long but the smiles on these kids' faces makes it worth it all!

2024 OHIO STATE FAIR!
🍀 I am so proud of these four kiddos and how hard they work each and everyday with their horses. There was some pretty serious competition at this massive show, especially in the rail classes! So happy with this team and also happy this long hot week is finally finished.

🏆Blake and Skunk came home with some new hardware, winning Champion in Stakes Race and Reserve Champion in Pole Bending💪🏻 Love seeing my old man still kick butt and take names. Blake rides him very well and she has improved tremendously this year.

🎲Ava and Vegas placed 10th in a very serious costume contest. They competed in their first big Ranch classes and did a great job! They didn't score a top placing in either class but have made leaps and bounds in the short months they've been working together.

🔥RyLee and Reno had some BIG classes and unfortunately didn't pull a top placing either but Reno did very well handling such a big show with lots of commotion. They've also only been a team for a few short months! Excited to see what she can make of him.

🐴Reagan and Chance did wonderful in her Hunter classes. This was Reagan's first ever big dog show and she held her nerves together pretty well! Her and Chance make an excellent team and I'm so excited for their future.

🫡As always, big thank you to these parents who put their blood, sweat, time and funds into this passion their kids have! I love our barn family, we are blessed with an amazing support system. I am so proud of all of my kids and do boast about them but I really have to hand it to RyLee. She ALWAYS steps up when I can't be there. She was at the fairgrounds with me (and without me) every single day this week even though she only showed two of them. She is the first to help one of the other kids or their horse. She is always sharing her grooming equipment, show clothes and even tack without a second thought. And she does it with a smile! I am hard on her and push her to do a lot, but she takes it and pushes to the next level. This young lady is truly something special and we appreciate her greatly!
