Many people are familiar with our famous “BLT”—Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger— who once occupied the Clubhouse in their large habitat (now just home to Baloo). What some people do not know is that Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary has about 1,500 other “club members” living in the 250-acre sanctuary in Locust Grove, Georgia which is about 45 minutes south of Atlanta, Georgia. As for our , this unusual trio came to Noah's Ark in 2001 through the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as bottle-fed cubs. All three were male and lived together, slept together, and even ate together as a family for nearly 20 years. Leo was an African lion, but had no mane due to being neutered at an early age; Shere Khan was a playful Bengal tiger, and Baloo (last remaining member of the trio) is an enormous cinnamon-faced North American black bear. Perhaps while you are here you would love to have a "behind the scenes tour" known as "The Walk On The Wild Side" tour (WOW). For just $75 per person (tax-deductible), you can have a behind-the-scenes tour to learn about each animal and their story. This tour is perfect for the avid amateur photographer or those who just want to have a personally guided tour and be within just a couple of feet of a tiger, bear, or lion. If conditions are favorable, enjoy a personal, up-close encounter with our sweet little capuchins. These tours are provided Tuesday through Saturday at 10:00 AM. Reservations are required and should be made at least 48 hours in advance. There is a minimum of two per tour and a maximum of 10 (no children under 10 years old are allowed to take the tour at this time). To make your reservation today, please visit our website to schedule.
