Our almost 6 acre facility is located within the Lake of the Woods community right next to Wilderness Battlefield Park. Our mission is to provide a recreational and learning experience in horseback riding and care of horses for our residents and their guests. We offer both English and Western lessons for ages 7 & up! We also offer pony rides, trail rides, 4 Hunter Shows per year, Summer Camps and
full care boarding. Our facility includes two barns, 5 turn out paddocks, a covered arena, a large show arena and access to the trails on Wilderness Battlefield park.
Now that everyone (people and horses a like!) can shower again, let’s get you on the lesson schedule!

MEMBER NEWS!!📣 WATER ADVISORY HAS BEEN LIFTED!
Rapidan Service Authority, Virginia Department of Health Lift Do Not Drink Advisory for Wilderness Water Treatment Plant Customers.
ORANGE COUNTY, Va. – Effective immediately, Rapidan Service Authority (RSA), in consultation with the Virginia Department of Health’s (VDH) Office of Drinking Water (ODW), is lifting the Do Not Drink Water Advisory.
A multi-agency response investigation, led by VDH ODW, has not found any reason for the advisory to continue.
Laboratory sampling data over multiple days continually demonstrated that the drinking water fully complies with federal and state drinking water standards. This data was reviewed by ODW’s subject matter experts, toxicologists, and U.S. EPA Region 3 staff.

Thank you to the families of Jessica Smith-White and Kristie Torline McCaryfor loaning the Equestrian Center your water cube and water trailer!
The horses are enjoying this break in the weather and stayed in their paddocks all day.
We were able to fill up extra troughs with clean, un-contaminated water from the water cube and trailer to ensure safe drinking water for the next few days.
Check the comments for Patton testing water which smelled different coming from a different source!
ASSOCIATION UPDATE: LOWA Offices will be open today. Amenities will be open with limitations to tap water. The Clubhouse, Fareways and Snack Bar will remain closed. All drinking stations will be turned off until further notice. RSA UPDATE: Alert from Rapidan Service Authority: Bottled Water – Wilderness Date: Aug 22, 2024 RSA is awaiting delivery of additional bottled water. At this time (7am on 8/22), there is no bottled water available at RSA's distribution site (3489 Germanna Hwy). Updates will be delivered using this system. Please note that the DO NOT USE order remains in effect.

We had a bittersweet moment as our best barn kid, Sky Ruggeri, put down her last hunter trips as a junior with her partner, Top Gun. Sky had 2 great trips in a very competitive combined division of Limit Rider, Low Hunter and Maiden Hunter! Sky is headed off to the University of Virginia in the fall and will be dearly missed. It’s not goodbye..it’s see you later, Sky! 💟 🥲🥹
Miss Sonia/Liz Morris also had GREAT rides on Top Gun in a VERY competitive Long Stirrup division. Phew, your leg is looking S T R O N G and everyone loves your smile as you ride-it’s contagious!

Leadline will start at 9AM in the Covered Ring, Pre-Short will be in the Show Ring following Leadline. This transition will take a few minutes in the case of switching horses.

Our goal is to move be able swiftly and have exhibitors back on the road before any afternoon thunderstorms.
If we don’t get rained out for Sunday’s horseshow, it looks to be a perfect turnout!
