What a great and busy weekend Stable View Academy HT! Very proud of Obi and Wiles for completing their very first horse trial! Big congratulations to Zoie Sitton and Nova for their lowest dressage score ever and Ava Shiflett and Ticket for placing 4th at their first BN! and Jackson both had great weekends too, Grey only dropping one rail in SJ and Jackson finishing 5th. So very lucky to be able to get him out again❤️ Thank you to all of the volunteers, officials and staff Stable Viewfor a great weekend!

Five years. Five years is how long I have waited for this moment. Five years ago was the last time this horse jumped and galloped around an event. Five years ago the last event he did, I made a very stupid mistake, missed a jump an easy jump on cross country and was eliminated. Little did I know that that was supposed to be his last run. Diagnosed with multiple soft tissue injuries and bone cysts, his future was bleak. My vet said he would be lucky to be pasture sound and treatments were limited to none. I was going through one of the roughest parts of my life and this just compounded everything. All I could do was just let him live the most comfortable life he could, whatever that was. Hung up hopes, shelved dreams. But as time passed he healed and grew sounder. We had a failed re-start, he still wasn’t quit right, threw him back out to the wait. Finally last year he was able to be re-started and stayed sound! Got better, could jump again, felt great! Made some plans but of course injuries, thankfully minor and continued. This is the culmination of five years of patience. Most would have given up and sent him along but I just couldn’t do that to him. He deserved more than that. I finally was able to make it up to him, my silly mistake five years ago and ride him through the finish. I had no idea that day walking off course, that could have been the last time. Thankfully I was given another chance to make it up to him and ride him home again. You just never know when it could be the last time❤️

We’re excited to share our tentative 2024 Schedule! We’ll have a lot more information to come as we finalize the details, so please make sure to follow us & join our email list!

Our first two mounted hound walks will be at Larkspur Ranch in Lancaster, SC on Saturdays August 17 & 24th. These early morning outings are a great opportunity to beat the heat & start conditioning yourself & your horse for the upcoming season. It’s also a low-stress environment to introduce new horses to a hunt format.
Remember guests are always welcome!

28 years ago I was introduced to eventing, the sport that would change my whole world and life trajectory. My Mom took my friends and myself to go see the Olympics in Atlanta in 96. Tickets were assigned by lottery and we got a eventing instead of what my friends and I really wanted at the time which was show jumping since we all rode hunter/jumper at the time. We received tickets for the individual eventing but still got to see the teams final show jumping and medal ceremony. It was so exciting to watch riders like Bruce Davidson and David O’Connor on their legendary horses and I even got David’s autograph! Even then I loved the cross country, we walked a good majority of the course and I spent the day running between these 2 amazing water complexes watching all of the amazing riders. My 12yo self couldn’t imagine that one day she would be working along side the people she admired that day and would even call some of them a friend now.❤️

I just love this♥️Finn loves his hounds and hanging out with them! Lots of fun down at the Tally Ho Fox pens yesterday evening. Finn escorted Shelby Austin’s Eggo out for his first hound experience who had an absolute blast! It’s so much fun riding horses who are so interested and eager to experience new things, best 3yo ever!

What a fantastic weekend! I was so happy to share how much fun Aiken can be with friends this weekend! Thank you to Full Gallop Farm for hosting our ponies and starting our weekend off with some fun cross country schooling! Then we headed over to Stable View to watch the Olympic Eventing Team’s final cross country outing before 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games we even had a Boyd Martin spotting! We followed that up with some great tack shopping at both Aiken Saddlery and Oak Manor Saddlery Caught just the end of the Sidelines Grand Prix at the Aiken Summer Classic at Bruce's Field, Aiken, SC before heading over to THE WILLCOX for a delicious dinner. We concluded Sunday with a trail ride through historic Hitchcock Woods before departing homeward. Thank you to everyone who came out and had a great time! This weekend really spotlighted what a wonderful equestrian area Aiken is and how many amazing activities there are for equestrians! I can’t wait to organize more trips like this so please keep any eye on my social media for more trips like these!

So much fun to be back Virginia Horse Center for Virginia Horse Center Foundation Horse Trials after so many years! Coming here brings back so many great memories, I wanted to share this one. The first pictures is my late horse Cole’s most favorite place in the whole wide world when he was alive. He knew exactly what time was when he walked up the hill and heard the flag poles. His heart would literally beat out of his body with excitement to gallop out of the start box. It was his absolute favorite, any doubt just look at his face in the next picture♥️ Miss you and love you buddy!

Had so much fun Carolina Horse Park War Horse! It was great to switch places from judging to competing♥️ Grey was fantastic, finishing 4th in the Beginner Novice division, side saddle for all phases. He stepped up and filled in for Jackson, who was going to make his comeback event but of course gashed his fetlock open last week😖 Thank goodness nothing major and he is on the mend. Thank you so much to the volunteers, officials and everyone at the Carolina Horse Park for a great event!

Spent a beautiful Easter out Aiken Horse Show with both Grey and DW! Had a blast showing both of them side saddle, DW placing 3rd in all of his classes side saddle. Grey then stepped up and after doing the over fenced side saddle, did the fox hunter division and both the teams and pairs. If not for a pilot error we probably would have won both the pairs and teams🤦‍♀️ Still so much fun riding with friends❤️ So proud of both boys for showing so well today! Can’t wait for the professional photos!

Finally one of the best things about staying Estancia Los Potreros is it is a true working cattle farm. From helping herding horses and cattle the is such a versatile breed! It was very interesting watching the gauchos separate the cattle and to watch them brand the young calves. I was really in awe watching one that and I dubbed “super gaucho pony” whose real name is Gateado. He is 22 yo but doesn’t look it at all! He worked super hard both days rounding up the cattle and then to my surprise I got to ride him the last day😍🤩what a gentleman but also like a Ferrari too! Just my type😂 I also couldn’t finish my Argentina trip coverage without mentioning the food! The FOOD OMG! Having fresh beef for dinner almost every night and a gaucho bbq is just perfection! Cannot wait to return!

I have to return to Estancia Los Potreros and talk about how amazing the horses are! We rode twice a day, in the morning in the Argentina stock horse the Criollos and in the afternoon the Passos. What amazed me was how incredibly sure footed these horses are on such rocky and challenging footing. There were so many trails we rode down that would have been challenging to hike down on foot, let alone ride a horse down! I loved riding a different horse every time I went out but definitely had some favorites! The lovely Successor shows off his lovely Paso gate in this video. The Criollos were so adaptable to whatever job you asked of them, rounding up cattle in the morning, trail riding or playing polo in the afternoon. I definitely wouldn’t have minded bringing a few home with me!😂 Also thank you to for the great helmet cams!

Wow I am just overwhelmed with my experience at Estancia Los Potreros over the last week! I am still processing all of the wonderful adventures, horses, people, food and culture after my first trip to Argentina and South America! So much to share, will have to break it into several post but here are some of my favorites! Thank you so much to Kevin, Georgia, all of the guides and gauchos for your wonderful hospitality, it truly was a trip of a lifetime. No matter where you are on earth, horses have a magical way to bring people together, help cross language and knowledge barriers and make the world a little closer and special❤️ #❤️horses ❤️

Great day out with Mecklenburg Hounds Inc yesterday! Had a Tally Ho on a big fat coyote and the hounds worked hard until he dodged out of our territory. Very nice to have Goodwin Hounds for a joint meet too! Tot’s big white hounds are so handsome❤️ Thanks to staff and huntsman for a great day!
