Marigold is a 5 month old Female Golden Retriever Puppy that was recently given a Second Chance through The Second Chance Fund and Lodi Veterinary Care.
Marigold had a terrible fracture in her distal hock/tibia/fibula that was not repairable. Her back leg got tangled in a tie out line. Her owners could not afford amputation and had decided to euthanize her. Fortunately a previous LVC employee reached out to the Second Chance Fund. Marigold was accepted into the Second Chance Program and her care was transferred to Lodi Veterinary Care.
Marigold had a surgical amputation of her hind limb and was lovingly placed in a foster home for recovery. It is likely she will remain in her foster home and will be adopted by her foster dad. She recovered from her surgery like a trooper and bravely learned very quickly to get around on three legs.
Second Chance would like to thank all of those who have been involved in returning her back to health and especially those who made feel loved and cared for as she faced a pretty traumatic experience! Also a big thank you for the volunteers and donors who keep Second Chance Fund up and running so we have the opportunity to save beautiful pets like Marigold. You all have made a difference and saved a life.
We look forward to watching Marigold recover and live her best life.
