Second Chance Fund

Second Chance Fund Giving Animals in need a Second Chance! The Second Chance Fund provides financial support for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes.

This includes funding veterinary care for:
Humane Society animals who require care/surgery prior to adoption. This includes spays, neuters, vaccinations, and preventative health care. Stray animals
Assistance to breed rescue groups
Extreme hardship cases - animals who are surrendered to the Second Chance Fund for further care. When it is determined that an animal can be made whole, healthy, and ha

ppy, they are given a "second chance" at life. We can then offer them hope for a future full of happiness and love through careful placement in an adoptive home. Funding Sources Include:
Donations from veterinary hospitals, pet owners, the general public, local businesses, and drug companies. Memorials
Fundraisers such as the doggie dash, garage sales, calendars, and bake sales. Advanced directives and estate planning

Oliver is a 6 month old male farm kitten that was surrendered to The Second Chance Fund for treatment of a severely damaged hind leg. Radiographs showed fractures in all three of his leg bones leaving him with the best option of amputation. He was treated for fleas and ear mites, had all his routine vaccines updated and was neutered. He tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Lodi Veterinary Care performed the amputation and Oliver recovered like a champ. Now he needs a forever home! Fostering is also an option while we try to find someone to love him. Oliver is playful and very friendly and does just fine with his three legs! Maxxi gets a Second Chance
Maxxi is a 13 week old female kitten who was surrendered to the Second Chance Fund after
being attacked by a large dog. She had an extensive maxillary fracture involving her teeth, roof
of her mouth and the sinuses of her nose. Lodi Veterinary Care repaired her lacerations and
extracted the fractured teeth. A feeding tube was placed to allow her to eat while the fracture
healed.
Despite all of this trauma and treatment, Maxxi remains playful and very cuddly. She is on track
for a full recovery with some monitoring as her adult teeth come in. She is eating soft foods on
her own and is currently in foster care. Because of her sweetness, she will likely be adopted
