Today we remember Captain ‘Chris’ Serpa.

Captain Serpa was often seen jogging around the grounds of the Sheriff’s Department before starting his shift. It was common for him to encourage others to follow suit and stay active.

As active, fit, and trim as he was, on May 9, 2006, Captain Serpa suffered a heart attack shortly after a friendly game of basketball with co-workers. A sad and unforgettable day for our Sheriff's Office.
Captain Serpa will forever be in our hearts and always remembered.
