We spent a pleasant weekend in Florida at the Spring Fling CDE at Grand Oaks with Lexus. Our objectives and focus for this show were distinct. We sought forward and confident dressage and cones. Dressage was completed with a respectable score of 51, the best of the Advanced/FEI Single horses. We had planned to retire on marathon to continue to cones. Sunday saw one of our best cones rounds to date, and the 2nd best round of the whole FEI division! Now to build on this confidence-building weekend.

Some of the more expensive helmets. The most expensive I've seen was 1500.00 euros, decked out with Swarovski Crystal's! 🤩

Working on the shoulder-in part of our dressage test. Like any person, horses have an easier direction vs the opposite direction. This is Lexus's harder direction and he tends to get too much bend in the neck (we've since corrected that). But if you look at his front feet and the rest of his body, he has brought his front feet and shoulders to the inside of the direction of travel, while his hind feet stay on the original path of travel.

In just a short time Claudio has helped me take Lexus to another level. Here Lexus is showing a big relaxed trot. Lexus is happy and obedient in the work.
