💖KAI - a 7 yr old spayed female Samoyed who will be available soon in the St. Louis,MO. She was recently surrendered back to our organization. Her owners daughter was diagnosed with cancer & she was going to be away for an uncertain amount of time to care for her grandchildren and her daughter. She felt it was best that KAI 💖 be placed into a new home.We have her back in our possession, currently with a foster mom in the St. Louis area.
KAI has been fully vetted, unfortunately she was shaved by a local groomer due to severe matting close to the skin. She is house-trained, crate trained and loves (respectful) kids. KAI currently weighs 46 lbs. and is cat friendly. She’s adjusting well in a new home and we are hoping to get her adopted with in the next few weeks. She is very people needy but crates easy and is OK at home while her foster mom is at work.
We do feel it best that KAI be placed in a home as the only dog.

💖KAI — an update on the first few days.
She’s a sweet girl, definitely wants her pets and licks my hand or paws at me when I try to stop. I think she’s probably best as the only dog, unless it was really the right fit. She really just wants to be where the humans are and get pets on the head/ear scratches.
She’s been eager to eat at meal times and has had no accidents inside the house. She’s felt comfortable enough to take a series of naps and almost sleep through the night (she woke me once, I let her out and then we went back to bed.) We’ve been on very brief walk around the block yesterday because of the cold weather and they have been totally fine.

Earlier this week, our organization became aware of Yena, a female Samoyed who had been neglected and wandering as a stray. We were not contacted until her situation was urgent, and it was unclear if we could facilitate her rescue in time. Yesterday, we received confirmation that she is safe. A volunteer escorted Yena out of the shelter, and she exhibited excitement to leave. She demonstrated good leash manners, is quiet, and despite having severe skin issues, displays good mobility and balance. We received updated photographs and a video documenting her initial walk outside the shelter. A brief veterinary examination was conducted to administer necessary vaccinations. After a brief adjustment period, Yena will undergo a comprehensive veterinary examination and receive a bath. We will start her travel permit process immediately. We are hoping Yena can make the flight to the USA w/ Noelle our other So. Korean Samoyed Rescue.
This exemplifies the mission of Saving Sam's.

This is BRUNO🐾 a 1 year old Malamute/Samoyed who is current on vaccines, neutered and recently groomed/vet checked. He is a very playful big pup that would do great with larger dogs/only dog. (He is good with small dogs but would benefit from a larger pup to play with.) His current owner thought bringing in a younger dog might help with the older dog who’s slowed down considerably- it’s been too overwhelming, not a good pair. BRUNO needs a more active life He comes with his food and harness.

Meet NOELLE ✨, a two-year-old female Samoyed rescued by our partner from a South Korean city pound after being unclaimed and at risk. Currently, she resides at the EFL shelter awaiting a flight volunteer and proper US entry permits. NOELLE is a healthy, vaccinated, 44-pound girl with a friendly temperament, testing negative for Heartworms. She interacts well with dogs of all sizes and has a strong affection for humans. Additional photos, videos, and updates are forthcoming.
Merry Christmas NOELLE ✨we are excited for your arrival in the USA early next year.

Notably, NOELLE is our only Samoyed rescue from South Korea this year, whereas in previous years, 80% of our rescues came from international locations. Presently, we are focusing on assisting Samoyeds in need within the USA. Despite facing challenges with funding and fosters, we have successfully taken in 49 Samoyeds & mixes and placed 43 into new homes this year.

SLSR is in need of a foster for Ice! Ice is a two year old Samoyed boy in Florida. Ice is a sweet boy who has been attacked more than once by small dogs. Due to this, Ice is reactive to small dogs.

We are looking for a foster home that has experience with training and who has time to work on Ice's reactiveness to small dogs.
Ice is not our first Sammie who has been attacked by dogs who then became reactive to dogs. Training has helped each one gain confidence and turn into a different dog!

UPDATE 06 Jan 25
Currently in a temp. possibly an adoption home.

MALIKai - 7 yr old F Samoyed- spayed, utd on vaccines, crate trained, house trained and cat friendly. A S.Korean cute samGirl rescue still fill of s***k. Currently in the Jefferson City, MO. We need to rehome her due to unfortunate family circumstances. Her current owner is now caring for her daughter who is receiving cancer treatment and has young children - out of town. MALIKai is spending most of the time alone crated only being let out for potty breaks and brief yard runs, by a neighbor. We do have several adoption applications currently on file and will be reviewing them this next week.

****From her current owner-
MALIKai house-trained and people trained. We have grandchildren and do (did) foster child care too. She Loves Cats and most other calm dogs. Not so good with large aggressive breeds, unless that dog tolerates her initial high attention to them. She eventually settles down and is comfortable with them.

Meet Sammy, a 2-year-old Samoyed with a heart full of love and energy! Sammy is an incredibly affectionate pup who thrives on human attention and enjoys being the center of the action. Whether it`s cuddling on the couch, giving you a big smile, or simply being by your side, she`s sure to fill your home with warmth and joy.
Sammy is full of energy and loves to wrestle and play with other dogs, making her the perfect companion for a playful furry friend. She has a friendly, social personality and may even be fine with cats, though slow introductions are always best.
