our very Busy February ended with another Rescue In Need. This 6 yr old beauty MIA💖 found herself homeless when her family was forced to move into an apartment where dogs were not permitted. She’s a very sweet girl, now happy to be getting lots of love and attention after spending the night in a shelter. After getting all her vaccinations done & microchipped MIA was dropped off at her Foster home here in northrh Utah where she’ll be very loved while hanging out until she’s spayed mid~March.

💖DOLLY, a 10-year-old Samoyed recently surrendered to our organization, has officially been ADOPTED. Dolly's owner was forced to relocate internationally for work, leaving Dolly behind. Our southern California transport team picked Dolly up in the Palm Springs area and ensured she received updated vaccines and a rabies shot before arriving at her foster home. It quickly became apparent that Dolly would be staying with her foster family permanently.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome DORAH, a beautiful Samoyed, into our care. Her owner is relocating for work and, regrettably, cannot take her along. Initially, we were led to believe that DORAH was 10 years old; however, upon conducting further research into her health and past records, we discovered that she is actually an 8-year-old, spayed female Samoyed in very good health, including her hips. She is cat friendly and her only “BadHabit” she’s a FOODIE:) Earlier this morning, DORAH was collected by local transport, received a thorough veterinary examination, and had her vaccinations updated before being delivered to a foster mother in the nearby area. We will provide additional updates in due course.

TOMAS and MEILA (was Dot) have been ADOPTED they both were picked up this past week by their new families.
MEILA will be living in the SLC area with a fun family who fell in love with her while fostering - they love her very much and she also has a Sammy-sis named Ellie.
TOMAS now lives in beautiful Stanley, Idaho near the Sawtooth Mountains. He’s a very adventurous boy and will definitely enjoy daily trail hikes with his dad.
Both TOMAS & MEILA came in from a puppy mill in PA. last August along with 2 other siblings. The remaining brother YETI has not been placed yet. Currently reviewing applications.

💖KAI - a 7 yr old spayed female Samoyed who will be available soon in the St. Louis,MO. She was recently surrendered back to our organization. Her owners daughter was diagnosed with cancer & she was going to be away for an uncertain amount of time to care for her grandchildren and her daughter. She felt it was best that KAI 💖 be placed into a new home.We have her back in our possession, currently with a foster mom in the St. Louis area.
KAI has been fully vetted, unfortunately she was shaved by a local groomer due to severe matting close to the skin. She is house-trained, crate trained and loves (respectful) kids. KAI currently weighs 46 lbs. and is cat friendly. She’s adjusting well in a new home and we are hoping to get her adopted with in the next few weeks. She is very people needy but crates easy and is OK at home while her foster mom is at work.
We do feel it best that KAI be placed in a home as the only dog.
******FOSTER MOM UPDATE*******
💖KAI — an update on the first few days.
She’s a sweet girl, definitely wants her pets and licks my hand or paws at me when I try to stop. I think she’s probably best as the only dog, unless it was really the right fit. She really just wants to be where the humans are and get pets on the head/ear scratches.
She’s been eager to eat at meal times and has had no accidents inside the house. She’s felt comfortable enough to take a series of naps and almost sleep through the night (she woke me once, I let her out and then we went back to bed.) We’ve been on very brief walk around the block yesterday because of the cold weather and they have been totally fine.

Earlier this week, our organization became aware of Yena, a female Samoyed who had been neglected and wandering as a stray. We were not contacted until her situation was urgent, and it was unclear if we could facilitate her rescue in time. Yesterday, we received confirmation that she is safe. A volunteer escorted Yena out of the shelter, and she exhibited excitement to leave. She demonstrated good leash manners, is quiet, and despite having severe skin issues, displays good mobility and balance. We received updated photographs and a video documenting her initial walk outside the shelter. A brief veterinary examination was conducted to administer necessary vaccinations. After a brief adjustment period, Yena will undergo a comprehensive veterinary examination and receive a bath. We will start her travel permit process immediately. We are hoping Yena can make the flight to the USA w/ Noelle our other So. Korean Samoyed Rescue.
This exemplifies the mission of Saving Sam's.
