Tomorrow morning, these goats will start their journey across the US, traveling 2,200 miles to their new home at Forged Farm. It has been a pleasure caring for these silly goofballs, and I'm so excited for Brian Denton to finally see his goat dreams fulfilled. Be safe little goats. We will miss you here

Today, I have been milking for 200 days. I'm tired and I'm way over it. Just a little further and we will add stars to six new does, and three of those will be starred in all three categories, which makes it all worth it. Breeding season starts next week.

Last week I posted our negative CAE results. All the Johhnes negative results are now back as well. Fiona did test marginally positive for Johhnes via serum, so I immediately did f***l PCR on her and she came back clean. I wasn't worried, even after the false positive, but it's good to have the proof. These will be posted on our website along with the CAE results.

As breeding season approaches, I'm still, after 13 years of "goating", trying to find a balance between what I think I can handle and what I can ACTUALLY handle. For years, I have wanted to breed everyone at the same time and kid them out in as short a period of time as possible. Last year, I pretty much accomplished that, using CIDRS and welcoming 47 new kids in 24 days of two big rounds. BIG freaking mistake. It was pure hell as I realized that I had to bottle dozens of kids by hand while still teaching them individually to use the lambar by day 4 to get them off of the bottle and lessen my load. With that many mouths to feed, one doe got missed for days and got so skinny I nearly lost her to starvation (she lived and she's fine now). This year, I am still going to use CIDRs but I'm going to break the girls up into 5 groups, and breed one group per week. Hopefully, this will make my breeding season more manageable, but short enough that I'm still not dragging it out for months. Breeding season starts in 16 days. Pray for me LOL

SG Twin Willows TIO Fiona 2*M ​*D AR3254 ​+EVV 87 ELITE passed last night at 10pm. She has been struggling with respiratory issues the past few days, and pneumonia had set in. Fiona leaves behind her dam, several daughters, granddaughters, and a son. RIP Fiona.

Looking through pictures we took at Nationals, and I realized I didn't even have a single grown up picture of Cade's Lil Farm SE Venice 3*M and she's now a second freshener. All the pics on my website were of her at 2021 ADGA Nationals as a (7th place) Junior Kid. Problem solved.
