Look who graduated today!
Dudley is a beautiful and regal Boxer. He graduated today from our 24 day training program. The difference between Day 1 and Day 24 is night and day. We are so proud of Dudley (and his mom)! He’s sporting his new Jeeping Goggles 😊

This is some great information right here!
If you have children and dogs, it is so important to teach them as well as teaching your dog.

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that’s right, there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Meet Leiah! She is a sweet Mini Aussie and I could just melt in her eyes.
Leiah came in for her behavior assessment today and starts in our puppy training program Tuesday. She will do great in training!

Say hello to Hunter! Hunter is one of our many frequent boarders and is enjoying a stay with us now. He lets us know how much he loves it at TDS and we love showing him how much we love and enjoy having him.

Charlie has completed his 12 days of training and is such a well behaved little guy!!!
Charlie has worked very hard to overcome his reactivity with other dogs and is now making friends and truly enjoying being with them.

Meet Pepper. Pepper is a senior sweetie who has been through so much trauma in her life. She’s in great hands now with the perfect for her family. Her Pawrents absolutely love her and are taking all the right steps to help her live her life free from fear. We are here to help them and Pepper on that journey.

This black pup is Ollie. Ollie was recently rescued out of animal control and is a fearful and anxious baby.
He has started in our training program and is off to a great start. We are focused on gaining his trust, focus, and attention.
There is no telling what Ollie has been through in his young life. TDS and Ollie’s family are making sure Ollie knows that it’s nothing but love and fun for his future.

Allow me another moment to brag on this beautiful trio.
Today we worked on a Walking Heel with Sit Down Stay. At the beginning of the session all 3 looked at me like I was from another planet. By the end of our session today, 2 of the 3 have beautiful downs and a nice relaxed stay, along with great check ins on lead. Our class clown (not naming names 🤣) is a unique baby and he learns in his own unique way. I am confident that when I return for our next session he will have a unique and beautiful down.

Making friends is the bestest!
Charlie (YorkiPoo) and Max (Beagle) were both training today. It is Charlie’s first day and he is already making friends. Training is not just training. Socialization helps an anxious dog feel more confident and settled.
Our training also includes enrichment and socialization.
