A huge thank you to the Village of Lombard Department of Public Works for their swift response and tireless efforts through the night and into today to resolve the issue. We also sincerely appreciate our clients for their patience and understanding during this unexpected challenge.

An update from Dr. Ludwig regarding the water main break.

Dear Valued Clients,

We regret to inform you that due repairs needed for the water main break in our parking lot, we will not be able to see clients after 5 PM tonight. The repair work requires shutting off the water supply for the evening.

We will resume normal operations tomorrow, with hours from 7 AM to 8 PM. Our staff will remain in the building to care for hospitalized and boarding pets, and we will continue to answer phones and emails during this time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

What you need to know:

We are contacting all clients with appointments after 5 PM to make alternative arrangements.

Our phone and email support will remain available from 5-8 PM this evening.

If your pet is currently in our care, rest assured that we have sufficient water to maintain their well-being.

You can still pick up your pets between 5-8 PM.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to call us at 630-627-7090 or email us at [email protected].

Updates will also be posted on our website at https://www.lombardvet.com/water-main-break

We want to inform you that a water main break occurred near our hospital last night. Lombard Public Works began repairs right away and will return this evening to complete the work and ensure everything is fully restored.

There has been no disruption to our water supply, and our hospital remains fully operational. However, due to the ongoing repairs, there is a pile of rocks in our parking lot. For your safety, we kindly ask that you avoid walking or driving in that area until it is cleared. If you wish to drop off your pet before parking, please pull under the roundabout, and a staff member will come out to assist you. For curbside services, please park in an available spot and call us at (630) 627-7090, letting us know your car's location, and a team member will assist you shortly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Family Business

Lombard Veterinary Hospital was established in June 1959 by Dr. Paul and Mary Jo Arndt to provide the animal population of greater DuPage County with a complete health care facility. Some of our clients remember the early days when Dr. Arndt’s family lived in the apartment upstairs. Ownership passed to youngest daughter, Dr. Georgianne Arndt Ludwig, in October 2012.
