It is with a heavy heart to announce we lost another furry friend in my pack. Although I made a nesting box, Momma Cat had other plans. Dinah was born in my room on my bed. She & her brother Noah were inseparable. I had taken her to the vet because of constipation, turned out she had a mass in her abdomen that prevented her from pooping. Momma loves you my sweet Dine Dine. I know your brother Toby & sister Rosie greeted you at the rainbow bridge.

I’d like to wish y’all a happy & safe 4th & thank y’all for entrusting me with the care of your pets over the years. For those of you with pets who aren’t a fan of fireworks make sure they are secure in your home. The 5th of July is always the busiest for animal shelters because of scared pets trying to escape from the booms & trying to seek safety. Close all windows, have a fan going & either a TV or radio up louder than usual to drown out the booms of the fireworks tonight. It’s a good idea to get a name tag for their collar if you don’t already have one or if the tag is worn & hard to read. Most pet stores will be open today & they have a name tag maker on site. You can also try a thunder coat to wrap them in that helps some pups with anxiety. You can also pick up a pheromone spray or plug-in diffuser called Adaptal (Dogs) or Feliway (cats). This sometimes helps keep them calm too. Or calming treats. Or you can use all the above. If your vet prescribed calming meds such as Trazadone or Acepromazine be sure to give them early enough before the fireworks start. I know it’s hard to gage, while typing out this post at 5:30a I’ve already heard fireworks go off. I’d suggest feeding around 5:30/6p & giving the meds then. The meds usually last about 6 hours so if you wanted to, you could give the meds earlier than 5:30p & give a second dose 6 hours later.

**FEBRUARY IS PET DENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH**

The importance of dental care. Right vs left side of this pups mouth. All that tartar & plaque on the teeth causes bacteria to form & it eventually gets into the blood stream & causes other health issues. Talk to your veterinarian today about anesthetic vs non-anesthetic dentals. Most offer a lower priced dental during the month of February. Pet Dental Services has many locations. Check out www.petdentalservices.com for more info.

It is with a heavy heart to announce we lost another furry friend in my pack. I adopted Rosie from WLA Animal Shelter along with her sister Daisy at 8 weeks old. Took her in for a UTI & they found a huge abdominal mass. I couldn’t let her suffer. Her health & quality of life had been declining the last few weeks & was no longer able to walk very well without falling over. Momma loves you my sweet Rosie Posey Momma Girl. I know your brother Toby greeted you at the rainbow bridge.

It’s pet dental health awareness month. Call your local vet to make your appointment today. Animals can get gum disease too. That bacteria goes into the blood stream & goes to the heart causing other health issues. Message me for more info.
