Stanley Davis, one of the founders of this club, opened his eyes Thursday morning in heaven. Stanley, and his wife Jane, have been avid supporters of the club since he helped start it, despite not riding horses anymore. Stanley owned a portion of the land the club rides on, and was glad to have it used for equestrian recreation. He also hosted the annual Wagon Train event. He loved horses, and passed that love onto his son Bob, grandson Brad, and great-granddaughters Miriam and Abby. Stanley also shared his horses with many people who would not have been able to experience the love of horses without him. He will be remembered for his gentle and quiet spirit, his love of horses, his love of people, and especially for his love of God. Services are being held at the London Mills United Methodist Church with the visitation Monday, April 29th, from 5-7pm and the funeral service Tuesday, April 30th, at 10am. Memorials can be given to the London Mills United Methodist Church or the Galesburg Rescue Mission.
