Shallow Hill is a full service English riding facility west of Columbus, Ohio that focuses on the relationship between horse and rider. We strive to create a low stress environment for students, boarders and our equine companions. We have something to offer regardless of age and experience level with riding horses. We maintain a diverse group of lesson horses appropriate for most ages and ability

levels. The focus is on a quiet environment where the focus is on building a solid foundation for riding in the English saddle.

Our horses are top priority here at Shallow Hill. With that being said, we are closing our books to new clients as I feel the lesson/ lease horses are at the max of what they can do and continue to be happy and healthy. From November 1, 2024 to at least the spring of 2025 we are not accepting any new clients. Please feel free to reach out and be added to our wait list if you are interested in joining our team next year!!
Thank you for your continued support.

I ask that we keep the horses out of the backyard (no using the side gate in the boarder paddock) until the workers are done hooking up to the new sewer system.

Thank you!

To me, the barn, horses, riding, showing are my escape from the ugly in this world. I do my best to try and keep the ugly from adding to the stress and pressure of showing. But unfortunately this weekend, that ugly snuck into the showgrounds and my student was an innocent casualty of that ugliness. I choose not to speak of that ugly, but instead be ever so grateful for the support and encouragement from not only the show, but from everyone. Thank you, Jamie, Nancy, Denise, Katie, and to so many others (fb is not letting me tag) for turning a scary moment into an inspiration. For reminding me there is so much good in this crazy world.
And to my 11yr old student who showed amazing growth and resilience. I’m so honored to be your trainer.

Here’s a pic of the amazing Tank! Who crushed his first show!

First off, everyone is safe. I am ever so grateful Amanda and Kirsten doing what was needed as I was away from the barn.

We had one intense storm unexpectedly blow through and leave quite a bit of damage behind. The horses have some cuts, bruises but thankfully are safe but I imagine they are all a bit sore from the ordeal.

However we have lots of downed trees and broken fencing. So we will be closed this weekend to assess and fix all the damage.

We are so very lucky as it could have been so much worse.
