Starkey Veterinary Clinic is a small veterinary practice that has been caring for dogs and cats for 24 years. With one veterinarian, the practice provides a family atmosphere.

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality care to our animal patients and support our veterinary staff in various clinical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts
- Assist veterinarians in administering medications, vaccines, and treatments
- Prepare animals for surgery, including monitoring anesthesia
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
- Educate pet owners on animal care and treatment plans
- Handle animals with care and compassion during all interactions

-Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones

Requirements:

- Excellent customer service skills

- Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs
- Self-motivated

- Must love animals
- Has reliable transportation

Training is provided and no previous experience is required.

Preferred Skills:

- Certification or degree from an accredited Veterinary Technician program

- Proficiency in animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and aseptic techniques
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique in a veterinary setting

UPDATE:
The ice storm and temperatures have not let up. We will remain closed for the remainder of the day. We will reopen on Wednesday at 12pm.

Just a heads up. We are going to tentatively have a late start at 12pm tomorrow, Monday, January 22nd for the impending ice storm. If the storm misses us, that will change our decision. If the ice lingers through the day, we may have to stay closed all day. We will keep you updated. Stay safe!
