π¨ URGENT: Our Shelter is Over Capacity! π¨
Dear Fayette County Community,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and an urgent plea for help. Our shelter is currently over capacity, and every single one of our cages is full. We are now housing 88 dogs, but we are only built to accommodate 64 dogs. This means we are having to safely cage dogs in pet taxis, wired crates, bathrooms, and any extra space we can find.
Right now, we have 15 sponsored dogs, which means the adoption fees are waived for the first 15 adopters, as long as the dog is over 6 months of age. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring home a new furry family member at no cost!
When we are full, our animal control officer cannot perform his duties effectively, making it even harder to manage the situation. Our dedicated staff is working tirelessly to ensure every dog and cat is fed, clean, and given extra love at the end of the day. But we are exhausted, overwhelmed, and heartbroken by the sheer number of animals in need.
We are begging, pleading, and asking for your help. If you have been considering adopting a dog, now is the time. Please come meet our wonderful dogs and give them the loving homes they deserve. If you cannot adopt, please consider fostering, donating, or volunteering your time.
Your support can make a world of difference to these animals and to our team. We see no end in sight without your help.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
With gratitude, The Fayette County Humane Society Team
