"You made it possible for me and my wife Brenda to adopt Buddy from SPCA of Anne Arundel County in June 2024. He turned 8 in March. He’s the best dog, and loves to play tug of war with his rope bone, and run around in the back yard. He is a very affectionate little dog and has brought so much joy to our house.

We love him very much and are very thankful he is with us. Pets for Patriots does great work! We love our Buddy very much. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families and keep up the good work." Steve, U.S. Army veteran

Our good work is only possible with your support. Please celebrate our attitude of gratitude this weekend with a 'thanks-giving' donation: https://petsforpatriots.org/donate 💙

Hjördis is our kind of human. She served 20+ years with the Marines and decided to be a hero to a pet in need.

So Hjördis visited our partners Grand Prairie Animal Services and Adoption Center and saved 6 year-old Dante, since renamed Uzuri Sefuu Pierre.

A smiling example of how our work helps people save pets and pets save people:

"Thank you to your organization for supporting the shelter where I found my emotional-support partner and new best fur friend—he’s truly perfect." 💙🐾

As Thanksgiving approaches and with GivingTuesday around the corner, we’d like to take a moment to express our gratitude to everyone in our Pets for Patriots community. We’re grateful for:

* Veterans for their service and for adopting at-risk shelter pets
* All whose generosity sustains our work
* Shelters that partner with us to save more animals’ lives
* Veterinary partners that help veterans afford quality pet medical care
* Volunteers who bring adoption stories to life
* All who share our mission through social media, branded merch, and word of mouth
*Our Board of Directors for their good counsel and steady hand
* Last, but not least: our tiny, yet mighty HQ team—Susan and Ted—without whom our journey would have ended long ago

We’ll soon celebrate 16 years helping people save pets and pets save people. Please share your appreciation for our lifesaving work by making a “thanks-giving” donation today: https://petsforpatriots.org/donate

In February, Tatianna was found sitting in a crate in the rain with her three little puppies. She was soaked, scared, and just trying her best to protect them.

All were brought to Humane Society of Valdosta Lowndes County and one by one, the pups were adopted.

Tatianna started to shut down after watching all of her babies leave.

So in April she joined the shelter's Hamilton Hounds Program — and wow, did she shine! She was eager to learn, so smart, and so proud of herself every time she mastered something new.

After graduating, she went to an amazing foster home where she continued to blossom. Having spent so much of her life trapped in a crate, Tatianna had some serious crate anxiety at first. But her fosters never gave up on her.

Tatianna became the shelter's longest-term resident, but then something magical happened.

Patrick saw her photo and just knew she was the one.

The Air Force National Guardsman rushed to the shelter to meet Tatianna that very same day.

Their connection was instant, and Tatianna hopped right into Patrick's car as if she'd been waiting for him all along—because she had.

Now, Tatianna is living her absolute best life with her new dad and his roommates—and may be getting another four-legged friend from the shelter very soon.

This meant-to-be adoption sponsored through a generous Petco Love grant investment in our lifesaving work. ❤️

We'd be lying if we said we weren't head over tails in love with Bruty. Just look at this regal beast! At 9 years young all Bruty wants is a quiet, solo pet home with a person or people who will make him feel love, safe, and more confident.

This shy senior fella has great in-home manners and aches for a home and people to call his own. Like all of our featured Forget Me Not pets, Bruty is available to any great home—not just to members of our program.

Please contact our partners Castoff Pet Rescue Shelter and Thrift Store Blairsville if you're serious about Bruty (contact details are in the link, below). Bruty is available for in/out state adoption from Georgia: https://www.petsforpatriots.org/forget-me-not/bruty-ga/

Grab a Kleenex for our first adoption with Big Lake Humane Society:

"Icee is a four year old Pittie mix who transferred to our shelter from Saginaw Animal Control where she had been picked up as a stray.

She ended up need three surgeries and the total amputation of her tail.

She spent 6 months in our care with no interest.

We did an emergency call for fosters in July because we had to repair our dog housing area to meet State requirements.

A family stopped in having read Icee's profile and thought she sounded perfect. They took her to foster and she quickly settled in like a missing puzzle piece.

We found out Terry is a veteran and encouraged him to apply for the Pets for Patriot program. We have been telling anyone we can, but Terry was the first!

They love Icee and send us pictures and videos of their pink girl that loves her dog brother Tux, humans blankets and stuffed animals.

Icee went through a lot, but the perfect family found her and we couldn't be happier.

Thank you for your partnership in making this adoption happen."

In 2012 Adam visited Humane Society of Huron Valley to find a battle buddy to help him reclaim his life after serving four combat tours with the U.S. Marine Corps to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Griz accepted the mission to help make his hero whole once again. Now 14, he remains the steady, always-there friend Adam needs. Semper Fi!
