"Harlo must know how much I needed her because she is helping me more than I am helping her."

Tracy served in the Navy for more than 15 years and now finds emotional comfort with rescue pets, like Harlo. She is a two-time Pets for Patriots adopter, having adopted a dog named Dakota through our program in 2020.

We never get tired of post-adoption updates like this that provide more proof that "ordinary" dogs and cats have extraordinary abilities to give hope and healing to their humans.

**All donations doubled up to $20,000!!**

Earlier this year Tatianna was found sitting in a crate in the rain with her three little puppies. She was soaked, scared, and just trying her best to protect them.

All were brought to one of our shelter partners and, one by one, the pups were adopted.

Tatianna started to shut down after watching all of her babies leave. She became the shelter's longest-term resident, but then something magical happened. Patrick saw her photo and just knew she was the companion he needed.

The Air Force National Guardsman rushed to the shelter to meet Tatianna that very same day. Their connection was instant, and Tatianna hopped right into Patrick's car as if she'd been waiting for him all along—because she had.

Now, Tatianna is living her absolute best life with her new dad and his roommates, and may be getting another four-legged friend from the same shelter very soon.

So he visited one of our shelter partners and threw a lifeline to a micro Bully dog with skin issues so severe no one wanted him:

"Ludo is doing amazing and it’s amazing for us to have him. We have renamed him Bilge—he sounds like a bilge pump when drinking water. He has healed so much in the short time we have had him and he is an absolute pleasure, incredibly sweet, and finally starting to belly and play."
