To say I’m obsessed with this scissor set from .international is an understatement 🩷 custom made colors that match my salon, engraved logo on each scissor & even on the cases & scissor holder, & gifted several items… 10/10 recommend to my groomer friends—oh yeah, & they come very sharp ✂️✨

I thought this dog was for sure a shave down when he came in to me, but I told his pet parents I would see what I could do. After using a deep cleansing shampoo, a whitener, a leave in conditioner, & an extra rinse I was surprised to see how much was blowing out straight. This type of hair sometimes does that with the right combination of products & a REALLY good bath, however, this is not always the case & sometimes it is absolutely better for the pup to start fresh. If a dog without this type of cotton-like-hair came to me with the same level of matting I would have probably refused the demat, done a pre-shave, & we would have started over. The reason being that other coat types are not usually able to blowout quite as much as this hair type. There was still a lot of brushing that had to be done, but the pup was tolerant of it & we had several breaks in between. We are on a good schedule now though & I am certain we won’t be walking in quite that matted again 💜 see you next time Cubby!

I’m originally an East Coast native, transplanted to Long Beach, CA 🌴 It’s been a long & somewhat tumultuous road getting to this point, but I am so blessed & thankful to have ended up doing exactly what I love—working with animals 🐾 I have grown up with dogs all my life & what I have learned is that they are an absolute constant no matter how life changes. A dog’s only downfall is that they are only with us for a small portion of our lives, but we are their entire life. Therefore, I firmly believe giving them the best care possible, both preventatively & when things happen, is so important. I understand that our pets are more than just pets—they are family, so to have the opportunity to help maintain healthy coat, skin, teeth, & nails for your pup brings me great fulfillment & will always be a top priority for me.

Seeing your pups on a consistent schedule is always the best way to foster a trusting relationship. I’m also someone that always gets extremely attached to my clients & always end up loving them as I love my own even if we start out needing a little bit more time & patience. Those are honestly some of my most fulfilling relationships knowing we’ve worked together to build a mutual bond & trust between us 💛

I am really excited to be a starting out this journey here in Long Beach & am ready to meet & fall in love with all your pups! I also have a great support system with my friends at for full comprehensive & emergency care in one place 💙 they are absolutely amazing at what they do & I highly recommend them to anyone in need of actual good vet care!

Carmelo came in super dirty after living on the streets all his life. I didn’t get a before picture because I was too focused on how he would react to getting bathed for the first time probably ever in his life so you’ll just have to trust me—he was VERY dirty 😅 he did wonderful though & had the sweetest personality!

I have heard some pet parents say their dog’s hair is short so they don’t need grooming, but there are so many benefits to having your dog professionally bathed. Skin & coat health are definitely impacted by how often & how WELL you are bathing your pup. I can honestly always tell when a pet parent brings me a dog that they bathe at home that is not getting properly rinsed off. Dogs can develop shampoo spots which can change the texture & color of the hair in small patches (always consult your vet for underlying conditions which may also cause this), or can develop irritated often itchy areas known as hot spots (hot spots are not always caused by shampoo, but they can be!) Also, most groomers will do the nails for you or you can add on a nail grinding to get them as short & smooth as possible. All things that will directly effect the quality of life your pup has in their day to day in terms of their overall well being 🩷

This is Luna 🌙 read about our day & me getting all sappy ⬇️ & swipe to the end for her before pic ➡️

This is another pup that came to me saying the last groom had to be put under full anesthesia to complete. While this one was challenging, I could tell there were glimmers of hope. She was not completely reactive to every part of the groom, but rather certain aspects like clippers around her front legs & her head. While these areas took MUCH longer to complete than the rest of the groom I could tell she was relaxing as we continued & was surprised how good she was for the bath, blow dry, & nails. Luna had some tight matting in certain areas so her mama was okay with a shave down, which was by far the most humane option.

As I build my new, & hopefully fur-ever, clients here I am thankful for a moment to slow down & be able to help dogs that require a bit of extra time & care. After years in this industry I know that I will not be a good fit for every dog nor every owner as no one can be. We are merely human & will never please every person we come into contact with.

What I do hope is to do my best & do right by all dogs in my care. It has been a journey to get here, but I am so thankful for every pup—perfect angels & those that try their absolute best—who come see me at The Bark Boutique 🐾

This pup’s coat was unfortunately too matted to save, but you could see the relief on his face once he was free of all that matting. Sometimes life gets in our way & I totally get that. I will never judge someone for how their dog looks coming in to me—I will just be happy you are here & ready to improve your pup’s life. There is nothing wrong with starting over fresh & understanding the kind of care your pup’s coat needs. Never be afraid to ask your groomers how frequently you should be coming, kinds of brushes to use, & any techniques we have if your pup “doesn’t like brushing”.

I was told the owners of this pup have said that their dog seems more lively than ever, seems to be breathing better, & he’s even been sleeping in bed with them again & to be honest.. I LIVE for that 🧡 So happy to see this pup’s expressive face again & I hope to see him soon!
