Well we have to brag on our boy G Man as Randi Hoffman likes to call him for earning his AKC Master Hunter Title over the weekend. Michael D Vaughn has done an awesome job with him building a very competitive BDC tournament dog and hunting dog. Michael and I set out on a mission with him and Gunner is one step closer to the goal. I can not say enough about Mike. Who’d have thought back then that we’d have this commn connection with Gunner and it would have developed into the friendship we have now. Not to mention all of the friends we have made through Mike in the BDC community. While I’m at it Kelly Hudman and I want to give a big old thank you to Randi and Justin Hoffman for continuing to pursue the BDC flushing tournament dream with G Man.

The next generation is proving to be the best! He is following in his grandfathers foot steps. He is such a gentleman at home and a monster in the field! I see so much of Ben in him, but he is Gunner and will build his own legacy!

We have a yellow female that’s 3 years old who needs a home. She has some structural issues that disqualifies her from being a breed able female. However that won’t stop her from making someone a good pet. I have worked with her blood trailing on deer legs and she’s really good at it. Send me a message if your interested in her.

My last dog I trained and I spent many, many days hunting and training to be better at hunting. The picture with Lanie and I was his last hunt. He was a tremendous hunting dog and a pleasure to be around. He was quiet, and calm in the blind and everyone loved him. He was a hunting machine and he took it very seriously. Once he was gone I was blessed with Chap who is Ben’s Grandson. I’ve spent a lot of hours with him as I did Ben. I even went to the extreme of actually putting him with another trainer to keep him learning. Over the years I’d tell clients with their dog as they were learning together the art of hunting. “Teach the dog to hunt one bird at a time and and watch it grow to one limit at a time.” Regardless of the level of training a dog gets and how hunting scenario based it is the dog still has to learn the art of hunting in the real world. After preaching it and training so many dogs the last 12 years I get to do it again with my dog. Chap and I like Ben and I are learning one bird at a time working towards the one limit at a time. Being a dog that’s a pleasure to be around in the blind and a bird hunting machine. I guess over the 12 years of Ben’s life I had forgotten where we came from together to get to where we were. One thing I did with Ben I didn’t with the one before him was I took lots of pictures. Before him it was kind of difficult because we didn’t have the quality of cell phones we do now. Chaps first hunt last weekend was 2 pigeons. I almost didn’t take a picture because it was what it was. However I remembered back to the countless some may see as meaningless pictures I took of Ben of the memories we made.

Enjoy those sunrises. Take pictures of your dog and a bird. Make memories with your dog. Pick’em up one and a time and watch that dog grow into one limit at a time.

Whack’n and stack’n Canadian Geese in Wisconsin with Michael D Vaughn, Kelly Hudman and some new friends. Diva had some on the fly crash course goose training and did awesome for her first big goose hunt. Was able to shoot a few pigeons for Chap preparing for dove season. We also picked up a new BWCR puppy. Meet The Blast’s Home Run Streak “Lou”.
