Dear Kamp K-9 friends,

Please help me to welcome groomer, Phoebe Winters, to the Kamp K-9 team. Phoebe is a recent graduate of Midwest Grooming School in Long Grove and will be working alongside Gina Helmick. Phoebe has a deep passion for dogs and is committed to uphold Kamp K-9’s standards to customer communication, creating a favorable experience for your furry family member and, of course, providing the grooming results you desire. At the current time, Phoebe will work Tuesday through Saturday (with Gina), but our plan is split schedules and provide grooming coverage seven days per week in the near future. In the meantime, you can schedule your bathing / grooming needs with Phoebe or Gina on the Kamp K-9 website (www.kamp9.com).

Receptionist -
Kamp K-9 is a premier dog daycare, dog boarding, dog grooming and training facility located in Long Grove, Illinois. Kamp K-9 serves the broader Northwest Chicago suburbs, including but not limited to, Lake Zurich, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Arlington Heights, and the corresponding villages.
The Receptionist will report to the Director, Kennel Operations, and will be the primary point of contact for customers in the check in / out processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greeting customers (owners) and guests (dogs)
• Checking in / out guests via the management software
• Ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service
• Maintaining key guest / customer records
• Contacting veterinary offices (as needed) to acquire vaccination records
• Maintaining the retail space
• Scheduling boarding, grooming, day kamp and training appointments
• Managing the business page
• Managing / maintaining payment transactions and record keeping
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the reception / retail areas

REQUIREMENTS
• 5+ years of work reception experience, preferably in the pet care / boarding industry
• Great customer service skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; can-do, problem-solving attitude
• Strong interest in / affinity for animals
• Flexible work schedule (weekends and early mornings or late evening)

Next up.....TRAINING!

The wonderful Nofo Lilo, who spent 11 years in the US Air Force training K-9's, is an expert when it comes to training.

Rambo's session today consisted of effective corrections, positive rewards, and obedience "proofing". I mean, look at that face!

We offer many options when it comes to training, and we want you to be a part of it! We offer 3 types of Training:

1. Day Training is designed to provide Day Kamp guests with training throughout their Day Kamp stay. The training is based on the desires of the owner and typically focuses on basic obedience / socialization.

2. One-on-One Obedience Training focuses on many of the same behaviors as the Day Training program, but with more frequency, longer duration and a broader set of training tools and techniques. One on One training is a 3-day per week program for 5 weeks.

3. Board & Train is primarily designed for owners who have limited time to dedicate to the training process, including transportation to and from the Kamp K-9 facility. The Board and Train program and is two weeks duration and requires your dog to board throughout the duration of the program.

The Dog Paparazzi is back again! This time, for Day Kamp!

Day Kamp is offered in both Half Day (up to 4 hours) or Full Day Kamp.

Today is a milestone event for Kamp K-9, as we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary today!!! Many claim that the success or failure of any new business is generally determined in the first year. Kamp K-9 has definitely "taken root" and we are THRILLED with the growth and progress in our first year. As the owner, I want to personally thank the many patrons that have trusted us to care for their dogs in a day kamp, boarding, training and / or grooming capacity. We will continue to work hard to protect that trust by maintaining a clean, safe, healthy and fun environment for your beloved family members!!
