(SCHAUMBURG, Illinois) December 16, 2024—Children around the world received some good news today, with officials from the North Pole confirming that Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and the rest of Santa’s reindeer have been approved for their Christmas Eve flight following a health checkup from Santa’s veterinarian.

Holiday plants, lights, candles, and other decorations can make the holidays festive, but they also pose risky temptations for our pets.

*Ornaments--Breakable ornaments can cause injuries, or if swallowed, intestinal blockage or illness.
*Tinsel, ribbons, wreaths, and other decorations-- Swallowed in whole or in part can cause choking or intestinal blockage.
*Christmas trees can tip over --Consider tying your tree to the ceiling or door frame with strong fishing line.
*Water additives for Christmas trees can be hazardous to your pets if swallowed.
*Electric lights--Can cause burns when a curious pet chews the electrical cords.

In addition to needing veterinary supplies, our partner groups always need basic supplies such as leashes, collars, and toys for the animals in their care.
