Years ago to get to Texas we had our humble and very simple “20 Day C**t Starting Series”. It was archaic and would embarass me now but you all on Facebook and Instagram got us to Texas with it. I had been living in my truck training horses and the two months of heavy promotion sold enough series that we moved to Texas. Where I stayed in my truck still 😆. Now we’re trying to do something big...really big. We want to do our part to reverse course as the western way of life is under full attack. We fully expect and have the data that hundreds of thousands will be tuning in to watch the entertainment series we’ll be putting out. With Heartland in its final season we will fill that gap. Those series double as a full counter attack to save our way of life. We need those memberships to HORSEpro ahead of time. Of course the catch 22 is we need the revenue (capital) to build the series. Had a great weekend at CO Versatility Ranch Horse Show. Helen and Lido killed it on trail with a 76! Debi and Smoke really improved as did Ella and Grace. So fun to watch tbe teams progress!!!

If you haven’t watch Shane ride, you are missing out. This is a wonderful read.

The story that won't be told. The one that changed it all. The one that only the wife would know. I feel you all may have similar stories and if not you may find this one just a bit spectacular.....
There are many things that should have kept my husband, Shane Steffen, and Gunna Be A Smartie, known to us as Princess Val, from thier grand achievement in the 2021 Worlds Greatest Horseman. Things like Vals possible career ending injuries and Shane's recent accident in August where he shattered his right collar bone, fractured 2 ribs and punctured his lung. To many looking from the outside in I'm sure thoughts of the impossible crossed thier minds when we sent in the Worlds Greatest Horseman entries this January. But Shane and Val just kept doing thier thing. Together. As always. They did this right up until the prelims for the WGH rein work when Shane called me worried. “Im very nervous about my run. I need you to pray with me.” he said. We did pray but instead of going in the pen and marking the typical 220 or 221 in the rein work that Val and Shane usually mark it was a 218.5. Respectable score for most but Shane knew that If he could be in the correct frame of mind he and Val were capable of much better. It bothered him. Terribly. I couldn't sleep that night. I prayed. The next morning when I woke up I felt a peace that God had this covered and I needed to hand it to him. Shane called shortly after telling me, “I feel much better today. I found scripture about fear and anxiety and how im letting it control my mind. I let it go. I talked with my friends Brady Weaver and Nick Dowers about my mind and getting control of it and I really feel God has brought peace over me.” Shane went in the practice fence work that morning on Peptos Smart Cookie and Val. Then went to compete in the Open Bridle finals on Cookie winning Reserve Champion on him.
During the World Greatest Finals on Val Shane was able to achieve his goal of keeping his mind focused on what he and Val needed to do and to not let fear and anxiety over take his mind but only with Gods help. I fully know that it was God that worked in my husband and Val that day. My husband and Val share such an unbelievable bond that is only a gift to man from God. Gunna Be A Smartie would lay her life down for him if Shane asked. I have watched her give Shane her all time and time again with every victory in the show pen they have achieved. She is so far undefeated. She simply adores Shane. It is special to witness. Shane has a special ability to connect with many of the horses he trains but none like this relationship he has with Val.
There are so many talented horsemen and women, many we are blessed to call our friends and there are so many amazing horses that deserve to have this title just as much as Shane and Val. I asked God why Shane and Val today? He responded....” I love all my children and enjoy giving them gifts and today it was Shane and Vals turn to recieve one.”

Tomorrow may not be thier day to recieve a special gift and we know there will be challenges to overcome everyday. We know we may also fail to keep our minds focused on God at the next big event but He is with us and that cant be denied.

We offer some of the most sought after ranch and performance horse pedigrees. American Quarter Horse Association Ranching Heritage bred young horses and aged ranch horses will be offered.
