💔 Farewell, Lucky 💔

With heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye to Lucky this week. She came to us at just 12 weeks old, suffering from an untreated dislocated ankle and knee, with no pain relief or care. Despite all we did to help her, her little body had endured too much. When she started struggling to breathe, we learned she was in heart failure.

Lucky was strong-willed and independent—never one for meds or too much handling, but always deeply loved. Letting her go was heartbreaking, but we know she’s finally free from pain.

Rest easy, sweet girl. You will always be in our hearts. 🌈💛🐑

The Good Life Refuge

The Good Life Refuge believes that animals deserve respect, love and the best treatment possible. We are a farm animal sanctuary located in Longmont, CO providing refuge to abused, neglected and at risk animals. We are a 501C3 nonprofit.

2019 was a fast paced and turbulent year with equal amounts of joy and heart break. We rescued 126 animals, adopted 85 animals out (mostly chickens) and have now 50 animals residing at the sanctuary including 10 different species including chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, pigs, goats and alpacas. With your help we were able to take care of over $7,500 in feed and supply and over $10,000 in medical care. We reached a big milestone by receiving our 501C3 status. Additionally, we were covered twice in the news, hosted several workdays, open houses, a Farm Festival, Holiday Market as well as several youth and senior groups. This includes welcoming and educating over 300 visitors here at the sanctuary.
