🐴December 20 (3-7pm) $75🐴
Intermediate Rider 9-18 yrs

Horsemanship From the Ground Up
All students will engage in activities that incorporate and remind of safety skills and knowledge working with and around horses on the ground in order to improve developing a bond in the saddle. We will work on grooming and tacking. The in and outs of the little things that are often overlooked but have a big impact on safety. Kiddos will practice handling the horses in various environments in a group setting using awareness and understanding of their horses behaviors and needs. We will emphasize horse behavior.
We will then put these practices to the test in the saddle in a group setting encouraging various activities that manipulate using the full body to incorporate patterns and developmental skills to engage the horse and rider. This is focused more on the current rider and building off of skills already in use.

There will never be enough words or emotion to describe when something special impacts your soul in a way you will always be changed.

Our sweet Daisy 🌼 (Rochaven Alana) crossed the rainbow bridge very unexpectedly yesterday afternoon. It was a moment when I knew within seconds that all things would change forever and I would have to look my Leyla in the eyes and break her heart without ever saying a word. It was a text to the vet that had the underlying tone that he knew what he was truly coming to the farm for…it was gut wrenching and I took the first hour of managing her to absorb before I made that embrace with Leyla or began processing with anyone around me. I just knew and needed Daisy to know I had her all the way to the end.

Daisy impacted my Leyla in ways I cannot ever describe that will forever change her as a person and a horsewoman. She will forever be stronger, softer, kinder. She will always hear horses differently then most are able because Daisy showed her how.

Daisy was our herd protector and knew every single pebble and if it were out of place in any way and you better put it back! She knew how to read a person inside out and force them to breathe and calm down and if you didn’t she took you for a spin! She had all the beauty and double that in smarts! She had a story to share and it was embraced with trauma and sadness but also rich with love and relationships. Daisy was every ounce of magical. She stood over all of us and touched so many kiddos in ways that healed hearts with purpose. She knew what she was doing. I asked her to help me heal chosen individuals and she stood by side and worked the role like every hero always does. I would hold her head close and low to me and whisper that I needed her to touch “this one” and I would literally tell her exactly how we were going to work together to do so and like a dance we made it happen one beautiful step at a time. Music. Incredible music was written every time we came together to heal another soul.

Our hearts are broken and Bel Amour Farm is forever changed but we know there is always a reason. We just aren’t always meant to understand. Run free sweet girl.

Korinna Grace Photography spent the day on the farm really embracing true “Bel Amour”. The Holiday mini’s are more beautiful then I could have ever imagined!

20 years ago I dreamed of creating a place with vintage beauty and peace that would fulfill so many hearts in so many ways. It isn’t just about riding horses but rather sharing the calm and joy that comes from embracing the core of what Bel Amour really means. Yesterday one more piece of that dream was met. This morning I may be exhausted from a week of making all this holiday vintage beauty come together but I am in tears that we did it! We made it happen one more year! We grew with it and did not go with it! Again!

We are Bel Amour!

Thank you Korinna for walking into this journey with us. You didn’t even know.

“Adele”
Saddlebred Mare
14 yrs
(estimated DNA 🧬 to be determined)
Chestnut with chrome

Up to date on Dental, Coggins, Vaccines, etc. Routine Accupressure and Massage therapy. She has some vision impairment that seems to affect her peripheral but she can see (if I put a number I would say less then 40% loss of peripheral but read on in this info because we have learned how amazing she is…). It is not major and more minimal in the left eye than the right. Seems to be from old injury and she gets along well. Trust is her best friend and she yearns for it ❤️. She is a lover!

Adele came to us as a rehabilitation via auction in Pennsylvania and she really needed the support and love. Our farm kiddos poured the love and energy into her from day one teaching her trust once again as it was immediately clear she knew love and wanted it back. She adores kiddos and she can’t get enough attention. She will play the “no no I don’t trust you” game but then melts into your chest and will stand there endlessly. She does want you to use soft and kindness as it is evident that at some point she knew the opposite. She now shows is that she knows that is no more and she is safe. We all sighed with happiness when Adele finally had that release 🥰.

She is doing amazing and is ready for her forever! She needs “her” person. She is riding outstanding and is the sweetest and kindest soul with a side of sassy red head 😉 (not in a bad way but in the way we all love). Her health and wellness are wonderful! She truly is stunning and is a looker!! I mean she pulls those legs up naturally front to back and throws that tail, raises that beautiful head and stretches her stunning neck and you can’t help but watch. She could make someone a nice little academy horse or even a fantastic momma once that DNA comes back!

I have had a hell of a year with my own health and have not sent her DNA 😞. But she has got to be registered. She was definitely trained in a show barn in early years. The more we do the more it comes back to her. Some routines and training exercises she loves and some she lets me know no way! Haha we listen and hear her story and she is telling it one day at a time!

She is gentle for kiddos on the ground and I’m hoping to have some time to have a few of my students riding her in a week or two. It’s crazy season around here!

I really believe she needs a person. She will do anything for me. I would love to see her get her forever. I WILL to assure a safe placement.

She clips, best in the barn for farrier. Can go barefoot but I have her in flat shoes because of our footing here in east Texas. Easy keeper now that she is healthy. Sound. Stunning and flashy mover. She makes people turn their heads that is for sure! Beautiful neck! Loves to hack around. Has some vision impairment but does great with consistency in her routine. Blinker mask while riding helps with shadows and she hacks out beautifully. She loves to work! She does liberty work and LOVES it! Adores kiddos! Grooms and stands for as long as you want! Loves baths! Loads on and off of the trailer. We believe she does drive however my cart is dismantled to be refinished right now so I cannot give that a go. When lining her she does show signs that she may not love that life anymore. But she lives for riding out on a hack!

PM for more info. I will be requesting a call to talk about her potential home and purpose etc. I want to learn about who she may be with and why. These kiddos have their heart with her and so do I so we will assure she is in the best possible situation that can give her incredible love, kindness, patience, predictably, compassion, stability, and have the means to support her properly. Her adoption fee will support the youth of Bel Amour Farm allowing them to continue to grow and learn skills that will give them opportunities not just within horsemanship but also as they grow in life. ❤️

The goal here is finding her the best forever ♾️ so let’s talk but only serious inquiries please. We are a very busy program and do not have time for window shopping. Sorry. This one is a special rehabilitated placement. Adoption fee is up for discussion based on potential adopter and interview 🌸.
