What an amazing spring break full of fun with amazing kiddos and beautiful horses.

We have learned about equine health, nutrition, care and management, training, and so much more!

The kids had some extra special moments that they will always treasure and I am so grateful for all who help me make it happen!

Neal McCoy met us at his beautiful ranch so we could bring home his amazing Gypsy Vanner, Seven. Seven is looking fantastic and was ready to be home! Thank you Judson Road Animal Clinic for taking great care of this sweet boy. The kiddos ran all over and even fed some catfish while visiting the cows!

Today we had a super cool coordinated helicopter fly over. The pilot is mapping the emergency roads and has worked out a plan with us to fly low (at a safe height) and slow over the horses to help desensitize them to the noise and blowing. The kids were able to learn why this is important and experience what and how we prepare for the what seems very quick activity. The horses did amazing! Thank you to our pilot!

Next up, we are storm prepping and learning all of the why and how’s! These gals are doing fantastic at taking in all the information and giving back what they have learned. They are working super hard to be my little assistants for the week and I am so proud of them!

And then baby Lotto! Of course they get to help with baby training. They are learning about rehabilitation and nutritional impacts on growing young horses. The handling and helping Lotto understand boundaries all while developing new skills are so important and these girls are rocking it!

Deano had the best time getting outside after two days of heavy rains. This guy has been growing like crazy with no end in sight. His baby antics never seem to match his huge body 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Youth day was the best! We did lots of work around the farm cleaning up from the storms and getting spring time ready. Of course we had tons and tons of laughter and some horsing around!

These kiddos are the very best!

The beautiful moments found within these magical horses and the incredible kiddos that find their way to Bel Amour are what make the soul of the farm alive and full of love.

Baby Lotto had his first trim at Bel Amour by our amazing farrier, Jeremy Bockmon!

He was the best boy, after a little nervous energy 😉. Thankful for a patient and kind team to help us get this guy all worked out for a bright future.

All this ice breaking and cold cold weather managing a farm is nothing short of tough and exhausting. Keeping these amazing magical horses healthy is an incredibly tiring task but worth every single tear that is dropped when you aren’t sure there is much energy left to give. These guys count us, the ones who wake up and go to sleep managing their every need. It’s our heart and soul.

Keep your head up fellow trainers and farm owners! We are almost to spring! 🌺

Welcome home little Mr. Lotto!

We took a risk and hit the go button this week to save this little guy from trading around the auction circuit. Hence his name 🙂.

He is so so sweet and wants to be affectionate and kind. He is confused and unsure which is all to be expected in his recent experiences. His fear of all the unknowns are a story we have seen many times before and it will fade as he feels more at home and begins to remember hands that are gentle. All of that loud and pushy world of the horse trading auction houses are traumatic and can erase so many great experiences in these sweet souls. This guy has known good hands and has had a great start in life but this little hiccup in time has created chaos and flipped him emotionally upside down. All of that is forever changed and his life will forever be full of love and respect while finding his path in life.

His lineage is full of UVM Morgan lines and some others that are some of my favorites and it shows in his personality and willingness.

So far he is doing well but we are watching closely as exposure to health risk are the number one priority in this journey. His weight is poor but not terrible. Nutrition rehabilitation will be slow and steady. This guy is big b***d and tall for a yearling and will be amazing to watch grow into himself! He is registered (pending) with American Morgan Horse Association and we should have that all sorted soon.

Welcome home little Lotto! You are “Bel Amour”! You will only know kindness and compassion from this day forth. Time to grow and shine! This is one of the many reasons why we chose our little farm name because…beautiful love.

Bel Amour Youth Day Saturdays are always full of laughter, growth, support, encouragement, and life skills.

This past weekend was no different and the smiles and giggles were in abundance. All of our amazing kiddos enjoyed a warm day giving baths and spoiling our sweet lesson horses. There may have been some silly playtime happening as well 🙂 and Mr. Beau loved every second!

Our little Bella was due for her semi annual hair cut and new wardrobe. She sure cleans up like a princess. Sweet old girl is our little farm mascot who for sure makes all the rules!

Polly Pocket kitty was exhausted by the end of the day and needed a long nap! She sure is the cutest little thing.

We can’t wait to see you all soon so you can meet all of our sweet furry friends and our incredible kiddos as we celebrate our “Bel Amour” (Beautiful Love)! ❤️

Bel Amour means beautiful love in French and we like to say we steal the whole month to celebrate.
