Cowgirl’s Impact

Cowgirl’s Impact One thing about me If you ask me for my opinion or help I will be there

You don’t know a horse and there rider until you take time to get to know them.I been training horses most of my life, I don’t have a degree but I do know what I am doing.

We are getting somewhere I let this girl sit for awhile and not be worked for about 4 months like me and my friend just started her training back up 4 days ago and she doing wonderful! Every horse needs to be okay with whoever on there back if it’s the owner or not, that’s why I wanted to start her training back up this way!

No halter or no lunge line just my voice and a whip to protect myself as I correct her when its needed and she even comes to me when I ask. Woah 🤯 it’s took a lot to get here, just let me say this is how legends are made! ( My voice was cracking in and out due to being cold, so enjoy this music and no Facebook I don’t own copy rights to this song)

I protect you and you protect me!
I love you so much! My life has been so blessed since you came into my life Hope!

I been taking time off from Hope’s training as she injured her self and I been taking this time to bond with her more on the ground and once she is healed up I will be posting videos and updates! But please enjoy this short clip and I hope everyone has a great day!

First time asking for a trot, as you can tell she is nervous and all stiff but we got into a trot. But please always remember when you are training a horse to praise them so they know they are doing what you want them to do as It gives them confidence as it takes them time and trust to get them used to you being on top of them!

Howdy Cowgirl’s Impact I know I haven’t post anything about training with Hope as I been lacking on saddle training her but getting back into it. Training is going good so far, she has bucked w saddle training here and there , don’t have that on video with correcting her out of it but here’s a shorty clip of the first time I was able to hop on her without a mounting block and will be posting a video of first time asking her to go into a trot too shortly after I post this.

Yesterday I watched a rider tack their horse up. The horse pinned their ears, swished their tail, danced on the cross ties and nipped at the air as soon as the saddle pad came out.

Even though the horse was CLEARLY communicating, the rider continued to tack up without hesitation.

Without going into extensive detail about the horse or the rider- just know that the rider, horse and trainer are not novice or inexperienced.

⁉️Why is this acceptable?

There are SO many educational resources that tell us this behavior is concerning. That these are potentially pain responses. (Having witnessed the event in person I can say with confidence that I believe they were).

When do we draw the line between someone not being educated or knowing any better, to their actions being unethical?
Unethical for riding a horse in pain, unethical for not investigating the behavior further, unethical for putting their own needs before the horses for the sake of showing/jumping/training/riding.

These questions need to be asked so we can attempt to break the cycle of normalizing this behavior.

✨The horse should comes first- not the rider’s agenda.
