We just received word from the North Pole that Santa photos will be available for pick-up at the Dog Zone tomorrow morning!

Recently, a mysterious new respiratory virus has surfaced in dogs in the Willamette Valley area and other locations across the country. The Dog Zone is paying very close attention, but we haven't yet seen it in our area. It's similar to Bordetella (Kennel Cough), but there's no vaccination for it because the vets are still trying to figure it out. In most cases the virus is like a cold is to us, but in older dogs or dogs with a compromised immune system it can become quite serious. When in doubt, PLEASE take your dog to the vet. Symptoms are coughing, sneezing, runny nose or eyes, and lethargy. If a dog comes into The Dog Zone showing symptoms, we'll turn it away. If a dog who is already here starts showing those symptoms, we'll quarantine it and move it away from the premises ASAP. We'll quickly notify the dog's owners so that they can take the appropriate medical action. We care for your dogs as if they were our own!

They gave her a bath and her nails and when I picked her up yes she was excited to see me. They took excellent care of her. No worries. While the air quality isn't the best in the area today, we are still open for daycare and boarding. The dogs won't have much outside time to avoid smoke inhalation, but they can still play a bit inside in our air conditioned training room and kennel areas as you go about your day.

To our community directly impacted by the industrial area fire, our hearts are with you during this rough time. Please stay safe during the heat and the fires in our area. Thank you to our local first responders, and those from neighboring counties, that are working diligently to keep us safe!

It's going to be a hot one the next several days! Does your pup like some pool play? We'll have them out and ready! Do they just need an air conditioned space to hang out in while you're busy during the day? Our indoor space and kennel rooms have a large air conditioning system to help your pups stay cool! For our customers working south of Woodland being inconvenienced by the slide at MP22 NB with their pups here right now, we will be here until just after 7 tonight with training classes. Wondering how reservations work? We have an answer for you!

"We don't need reservations for daycare, self-wash, or nail trims. We need a reservation for training and for the baths that you want us to do. We would like reservations for boarding, but can usually accommodate walk-ins. However, we can't always accommodate. Boarding is usually full on major holidays and frequently on summer weekends. Please plan accordingly."

It's that time of year again! Do you have a plan to keep your dog safe as the booms and whistles start?

Are you planning on setting off your own fireworks? Please do so responsibly and during authorized times so pet owners can prepare and be ready. This is when many dogs run off as they are scared of the fireworks and try to get to where they feel safer.

Also, if the area you're lighting the wick in is too dry, please take necessary precautions or change your location to prevent making the little fire into a big fire.
