Keeping your pet active during the colder months can be tricky, but maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for their overall wellness.
For our dog patients, we recommend indoor tug-of-war, indoor fetch, and interactive toys.
For our cat patients, additional cardboard boxes never hurt – along with laser pointers, birdwatch stations, and interactive toys.
What are some indoor activities your pet loves to engage with? Share with us in the comments!

🎄🐾 Keep Your Pets Safe This Holiday Season! 🐾🎄
The holidays are here, and while we're decking the halls with festive plants, it's important to remember that some holiday favorites can be toxic to our furry friends. Here’s a list of common holiday plants to watch out for:
🌟 Mistletoe & Holly – These plants can lead to serious symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, and even organ failure if eaten by your pets.
🌿 Poinsettias – They can cause irritation and vomiting if ingested by pets.
🌲 Christmas Trees – Pine needles can be sharp and cause digestive issues, and tree water can contain harmful chemicals.
🍬 Amaryllis – Beautiful, but toxic! Eating this flower can cause nausea, drooling, and lethargy in pets.
🎍 Cedar and Yew– Common in holiday wreaths and garlands, but irritating your pet’s skin. If eaten, they can cause damage to the respiratory system, vomiting and weakness.
💐Lilies- If any part is ingested it can cause gastrointestinal damage leading to kidney failure.
It is best not to have these plants in the home, but if you do, be sure to keep plants out of the reach of pets (especially cats who love to explore!). Be cautious with holiday decorations and food that could pose a risk.
If you suspect your pet has ingested something harmful, call us immediately.
Let’s all have a safe and joyous holiday season! 🎉🎅 Stay informed and protect your furry family members. 🐶🐱 Please share!

🐾 Safe Boarding Tips for Your Furry Friend! 🐾
As the holiday season approaches, many of us are planning trips and may need to board our pets. Ensuring your pet is comfortable, safe, and well-cared for while you're away is so important! Here are some essential boarding tips to help your pet have the best experience:
1️⃣ Visit the Facility Beforehand
Take a tour of the boarding facility to check cleanliness, safety measures, and staff professionalism. Make sure it’s a good fit for your pet’s needs.
2️⃣ Provide Updated Health Records
Ensure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations and flea/tick prevention. Many boarding places will require proof of these, so don’t forget to bring the documentation! Ask us to print or send a copy if needed!
3️⃣ Pack Familiar Items
Bring your pet's favorite blanket, toys, or even a piece of your clothing to help them feel more at home.
4️⃣ Give Specific Instructions
Let the staff know about your pet’s routine, food preferences, medications, and any special care that they need. Clear communication helps prevent stress!
5️⃣ Stay Calm!
Our pets can pick up on our emotions. Try to stay calm and reassuring when you drop them off, so they feel secure and loved.
6️⃣ Check-in Regularly
Many boarding facilities offer updates or even pictures! If you're nervous about how things are going, check in with the staff while you’re away.
✅ Remember: The right boarding facility can be a safe and fun place for your pet while you’re on your trip. Just make sure to plan ahead for a smooth experience!
