When I was a tiny little girl, growing up in the cornfields of Wisconsin, 👧 my mother will attest to the fact that I had every square inch of my bedroom walls covered in pictures of horses. I was serious about my love for horses and the life they would lead me to have one day. I knew, definitively, when I was 10 years old, that I wanted to be a Dressage Trainer. I know this because I have it written down on a school project I’ve saved over the years. At that time, specifically on the back of my bedroom door, I had clipped an advertisement from Dressage Today magazine and that advertisement hung there throughout my childhood, into and throughout high school, until I moved to Southern California to work for Hilda Gurney. That advertisement is now a photo I will share in this FB post. Please see below.
What I recall most about the advertisement is the look on the woman’s face who is riding the Friesian. She is so relaxed, yet in a position that is anything but relaxing. At the time, I had no idea that one day I would meet that woman and get to know her. I had no idea that one day, my mentor, Hilda would tell me about the excellent rider for “Proud Meadow” named Sabine.
Fast forward 35 years and it is now my great honor and most privileged delight to announce I am hosting a clinic with that same woman from that advertisement: Sabine Schut-Kery.
Please RSVP to this most excellent event by sending me a direct message. Sabine is a wonderful rider, trainer, teacher and person. She is gracious and kind, fun, correct and charismatic. She has represented the United States at the Olympic Games and continues to train out of the San Diego area.
Auditors are welcome on a limited basis and can contact me directly for details and to attend. Thank you! 😊
