Hi, this is Tracy . . . I have to make myself unavailable for the next 24 hours due to being sick and exhausted.

Please do not call me!!! One text per day is sufficient, if I don’t answer it’s because I am not available and will answer when I can!!!!

I am working six days a week, various hours at stores, in clients’ homes and in my offices.

The pet food bank is very important to me and so are the families and pets that we service! If we are to continue, I have to take this time.

Also, to the people who will know this is meant for them: How many people food banks can you contact the day you run out of food and expect them to provide you a months worth of food? (Yes, we understand that we all have had an oh 💩 moment when we forgot to get more pet food). A food bank, including a pet food bank is there to help supplement you and your families needs. We started out trying to supply enough pet food to last a month per family. This was an unrealistic goal and we have changed it to enough pet food (if we have it) to feed your pets for 1/2 the month.

Because we offer this service of helping you feed your pets, it does not mean that you can ADD additional pets and expect us to feed them!! We bust our butts to get enough pet food for the families we service! We receive new requests for help every day!!! Policies will be changing in 2025 and they will be enforced by myself and other volunteers who help me. I will not allow the greed and bad habits of others to bring this program down! We will do everything we can to help feed everyone’s fur babies! ❤️❤️❤️

Copied a post from Andra Wade, READ, it’s about community, feral, stray or whatever other name they’re called!!! Don’t leave a mess for others to clean up!!!

Andra Wade: “I have been feeding and trapping cats in a neighborhood for about five years. There are two different houses there that feed the cats but don't have a clue as how to stop the breeding. Both of these feeders have told me they want the cats gone. Well guess what I'd like to have a vacation, enough money not to have to worry about where my next car repair money is going to come from and a house without a leaky roof and mold. You don't always get what you want. Everybody I try to help fix cats wants them gone. I guess I'm just supposed to magically make a sanctuary, supply it with food Medical supplies, and caregivers to take care of the cats. When you live in a neighborhood if you see a few cats find a low cost or free spay neuter program and get them fixed. I am so tired of people waiting till there are 40 cats who are inow a problem and then calling me and expecting me to clean up the mess they let create. If you have someone helping you fix your cat please do not expect them to remove them and clean up after you. I do take friendly cats and kittens out of all colonies that I spay and neuter at. A feral cat in a shelter is a liability. Number one you can't do intake on them. Intake includes drawing blood for a snap test giving them shots putting flea medicine on them. And if you could do that and get them into a cage they are going to his scratch and bite everybody who tries to touch them. Think about this people take care of the problem before people like me have to get involved. We have full-time jobs, our own animals to take care of, households to run and our own problems.

If you need help trapping or have questions I don't mind helping you but don't expect me to remove the cats it's not going to happen. Feel free to PM me if you need help or advice.”

MICROCHIP MONDAY

Microchipping is a quick and easy way to ensure your pets are identifiable and can get back to you sooner if lost.

When an animal comes to the ACC, it is scanned for a microchip. If the animal is microchipped, ACC staff will contact the owner listed on the chip.

It’s important to keep the microchip up to date, including your name, contact information, and the pet’s name. If you take in a pet from a friend or loved one, ask them about the pet's microchip and how to update it.

The best reason to have your pet microchipped is the improved chance that you will get your pet back if it is lost or stolen.

The ACC offers microchipping and QR code tags to help get pets back home. Call or visit us for more information.

If you see a cat with a left clipped ear this is a universal sigh that the cat has been fixed and vaccinated. There are many programs for community cats called TNR. That stands for trap-neuter-return.

The practice of ear clipping in cat's dates back to the 1950s, when it was first used by animal welfare organizations as a way to identify feral cats that had been sterilized. Without an easy way to differentiate between sterilized and unsterilized cats, animal welfare groups found it difficult to track and manage feral populations.

Horry County Animal Care Center has a free program to help the over population of cats. Please call 843-915-5172 for more information.

SUPPORT NEEDED TO KEEP PET FOOD BANK OPEN!!!

Spending for 1,195 lbs of dog food and 160 lbs of cat litter includes $203.25 for shipping and $70 for pick-up and unloading. The total cost of $273 will provide pet food for only one-third of the pets in need for this month!

We also have reduced rent of $300 a month, thanks to Mr. Paul Prince, but still need at least $573 per month to operate! I CANNOT afford to continue paying the monthly expenses!!

Please donate what you can via cash or Venmo, () as our donation jars sit empty. Every little bit helps, even just one less pack of ci******es or bag of chips can cover the cost of a 30-40 lb bag of pet food.
