The Backyard Pack Dog Daycare and Boarding has opened membership for a limited time. We will be scheduling new dog assessments for daycare services until October 15th. If you would like to have your dog assessed for daycare, please email us directly via our website: www.thebackyardpack.com. Anyone wanting to get approved for holiday boarding will require a daycare assessment and boarding assessment. Dogs in our care thrive in a clean and healthy environment where dogs do not get sick, injured, pick up poor behaviors, or spend days in stressful environments.

Membership requirements - dogs must attend daycare and/or boarding every 4 months to maintain membership. Members do not require reservations to attend daycare - drop off hours are open between 630-930 AM - pick up is 330-700 PM. Doors are closed during daytime hours. No walk in assessments. Scheduling is required as we only assess two new dogs per week. We like to help keep dogs acclimated and making friends when they become Members which we believe can't be done with nonstop new dogs.

We have been voted Best of by Northern Virginia Magazine since 2016 and Best of Lorton for 12 years in a row. We are a small family owned 15 year dog daycare and boarding facility. Staff reinforces good behavior, appropriate social communication, and long lasting relationships with dogs and families. Read reviews on Google.

*25 lb minimum weight, breed wait lists are active for our highly populated breeds. We create a diverse environment for dogs to learn how to play with a variety of play styles. Canine Nutritional Counselor, Certified Behavior Modification Trainer on staff. We do not offer separate training classes at this time.

We are open on Friday January 19th with normal operating hours of 630-930 am. We would like to remind members there is ice under the snow so be careful when walking in the parking lot.

Contact your veterinarian. Request a copy of your pet's medical records. Report your concerns to the pet food company and ask your vet to do the same.

This began with a significant rise in consumer reports of sick pets eating Purina pet food. We are now seeing the same alarming symptoms across different brands of pet food. This has happened previously when there was contamination at the supplier level - multiple brands purchased the same contaminated material.

SAVE THE PET FOOD. Do NOT agree to send the pet food company the food. If you feel compelled to do so, only send a small portion. Keep the rest of the food in the freezer in original packaging. Do NOT send the medical records to the pet food company. Document your conversation with the pet food company.

The pet food company may eventually say they will pay your vet bills and reimburse you for your pet food. If you agree to this they will ask you to sign a form which will prohibit you from taking legal action. Eventually, if there is a class action lawsuit you will be unable to join if you do this or if you want to file your own lawsuit.

The Facebook Group 'Saving Pets One Pet @ A Time' is a group of volunteers working tirelessly to help pets impacted by this. It is not our group, but it is the best resource we can offer at this time. Please have patience with these unpaid volunteers doing their best to keep up with the influx of concerned pet parents.

Samples have been sent to an independent laboratory for testing. We do not have additional information on specific contaminants at this time.
