This sweet but shy girl was found roaming in White Rock she is not microchipped if anyone knows her owners please let them know she is at the Los Alamos Animal Shelter. She is super shy and fearful she needs to find her family.

UPDATE:
CMM Lost Pet Recovery and Humane Trapping
We are working with Los Alamos County Animal Shelter to secure the German Shepherd that is running at large. The dog is visiting one property in particular on a regular basis and we are coordinating efforts with the homeowner to support the dog there so we can get ahead of him/her. PLEASE don't pursue & try & catch him/her we don't want the dog chased out of the area. You can report sightings on this post. On CMM Lost Pet Recovery and Humane Trapping site.

We are working to capture that German Shepherd that has been roaming the area. The dog is scared and will run away if approached. Please do not try to catch him. Instead, if you see him, call us with any updates at 505-662-8179.

We are collaborating with local businesses to set up a humane trap to safely capture him. Your assistance in keeping an eye out and reporting sightings would be greatly appreciated.

OUR TWO LONGEST RESIDENTS REX AND SPARKS GOT ADOPTED!!!

Sparks was surrendered to us on 5/25/2024 and was adopted 11/22/2024
Rex was surrendered to us on 5/26/2024 and was adopted 11/19/2024.
They were brought in days apart and were adopted days apart!
We are so happy these lovely, sweet boys were able to find their loving home and we wish them the best of luck and forever happiness!

This big pup was found unattended at the dog park in White Rock last night around 7pm. If you know who it belongs to please have the owners contact us at 505-662-8179. There is no collar or chip.

!! Update, his humans never claimed him and he will be ready to be adopted soon, (after his veterinarian appointment first week of December).
He is so sweet, kind and gentle! Call to inquire if interested !!

We are crossing our Fingers this very scared boy is just missing from his loving home and not left abandoned at main gate. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if this is your sweet boy, just know he is safe and you can come get him first thing when we open tomorrow at 11am.

If you know who the owner is and they needed to rehome/surrender him, please just have them give us a call and we can speak with them about how to properly surrender an animal. Thank you!!

Unfortunately Ed got himself caught up in fishing line and he had to make a trip to the shelter to get the rest cut off of him. Thankfully he only received minor injuries but it could have been a lot worse! Please remember NO fishing in Ashley Pond. A HUGE thank you to the individuals who assisted Ed prior to animal controls arrival!

Sec. 6-21. - Ashley Pond Wildlife Protected Area Designation.
The county declares Ashley Pond as a wildlife protected area within Los Alamos County. The recreational area between Trinity Drive/Central Avenue and Oppenheimer Drive/20th Street is designated as the Ashley Pond Wildlife Protected Area. It is unlawful for anyone, other than the county or other governmental official, to desert, abandon, introduce or dispose of any animal, fish, bird, or reptile into the Ashley Pond Wildlife Protected Area. It is unlawful for any person, other than the county or other governmental official, to remove, catch, injure, maim, or kill any animal from the Ashley Pond Wildlife Protected Area.
