Remi was such a good baby today! He gave lots of kisses and snuggles and posed so nicely for the camera. ๐๐๐
Please note that the clinic will be closed this Saturday August 17th due to renovations taking place on the floors! We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience during the expansion! ๐๐พ
Sometimes you just have to sing and dance to distract a patient during a blood draw! Mars was a pretty critical judge though, and did not award high points for technical skills. However, enthusiasm and creativity both scored a 10/10!
Arthur got the honor of being the first kitty to experience our brand new cages! With super cool features like temperature control and light therapy, we are so excited for all our feline patients to take a spin in these cozy spaces. We are soooo close to the expansion being finished and ready to go, and we appreciate your patience during all the construction hullabaloo!
Whiskey was the snuggliest, silliest little baby and she was so good for her first visit. Swipe to the third picture if you want to see the cutest moment ever โ-> ๐ฅน๐ฅน๐ฅน๐๐พ
Bosa was the best boy ever for his exam today! He absolutely charmed all the techs and he didnโt even unexpectedly slime anyone! (his mom was thoughtful enough to bring a drool towel) ๐พ๐

My name is Grayson and Iโve learned that life is pretty great when youโre just a few inches from the ground. Itโs also really great when the vet staff are all obsessed with you. ๐๐๐๐พ
Hello to our wonderful friends and clients! We are currently experiencing widespread technical difficulties. Our server is down, which means our operating software is not functioning. The phones are currently live, but have been patchy. We appreciate your patience and grace during this challenging time and we hope to get everything back up and running as soon as possible.
snacks > vax according to Gus! This fuzzy little dude was so good for his first appointment and he was totally oblivious to the vaccines thanks to a delicious spoonful of cheese! ๐ง๐๐พ
Hey pet parents! Summer is here, bringing sunshine and outdoor fun, but it also brings potential dangers for our beloved furry friends. Letโs make sure we keep our pets safe and happy all season long. ๐
๐ธ Heatstroke Hazard:
Pets can overheat quickly. Ensure they have plenty of water and shade, and avoid strenuous activity during peak heat hours. Never leave them in a parked car, even for a short time.
๐ธ Paw Protection:
Hot pavement can burn your petโs paws. Walk them during cooler parts of the day and test the pavement with your hand. If itโs too hot for you, itโs too hot for them.
๐ธ Water Safety:
Not all pets are natural swimmers. Supervise them around pools, lakes, and beaches. Invest in a pet life jacket if you plan on taking them boating.
๐ธ Parasite Prevention:
Summer is peak season for fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes, which can transmit diseases. Keep your pet on a veterinarian-recommended parasite prevention program.
๐ธ Barbecue Precautions:
Keep pets away from grills, charcoal, and lighter fluid. Watch out for bones, corn cobs, and other food scraps that can be harmful if ingested.
๐ธ Fireworks and Storms:
Many pets are scared of loud noises. Keep them indoors during fireworks and thunderstorms, and create a safe, comforting space for them.
๐ธ Travel Tips:
If youโre traveling with your pet, ensure theyโre secure in the vehicle. Bring their favorite toys, regular food, and a familiar blanket to help them feel comfortable.
Letโs make this summer a season of fun and safety for our pets! ๐ถ๐ฑโค๏ธ

๐พ๐พ Beware of Foxtail Season! ๐พ๐พ
Hey everyone! As the weather warms up, it's time to be extra vigilant with our furry friends. Foxtail season is here, and these pesky plants can cause serious issues for our pets. ๐ฟ
๐ธ What are foxtails?
Foxtails are grass-like weeds with barbed seed heads that can easily embed in your petโs fur, paws, ears, nose, and even eyes.
๐ธ Why are they dangerous?
Once embedded, foxtails can migrate through the body, causing infections, abscesses, and even requiring surgical removal. They can be life-threatening if left untreated.
๐ธ How to protect your pets:
1. Avoid foxtail areas: Steer clear of fields and overgrown areas where foxtails are common.
2. Groom regularly: Keep your petโs coat trimmed, especially around the paws, ears, and face.
3. Inspect after walks: Check your pet thoroughly after every walk, paying close attention to the feet, between toes, and inside ears.
4. Know the signs: Watch out for excessive licking, pawing, shaking the head, sneezing, swelling, or unusual behavior.
๐ธ What to do if you suspect a foxtail problem:
Donโt wait! If you think your pet has a foxtail lodged somewhere, contact Los Altos Veterinary Clinic immediately. Early intervention can prevent serious complications.
Letโs keep our pets safe and enjoy a happy, healthy season! ๐ถ๐ฑ๐

Curtis was such a good boy for his appointment today with Dr. Johnsen! Iโm sure it helps that his big sister Caris is a long time patient, and probably gave him lots of good advice on how to chart the techs and get lots of yummy treats. ๐๐พ
Sometimes, itโs a team effort to get the perfect picture. Sokka really enjoyed being the center of attention though, which is great because something tells me this handsome boy is going to be the subject of lots of photos for a long time! ๐พ๐
