I had the opportunity to do a case study on a foundered horse we had on campus. We shot radiographs of both front feet. We then continued to measured the sole depth, hoof wall thickness, toe length, founder angle and pastern angle. We then determined how much we needed to trim and where we needed to place our shoe. It is amazing what proper shoe size and placement will do to improve your horse! (shared with permission by owner)
