Maxi was found abandoned in Palisades Park covered with fleas and ticks. With a little medical care and lots of love, he courageously pulled through. His gentle love has been exemplary in being a healing force for both bunny and human friends.

I have had the privilege of rescuing hundreds of bunnies.

After Bunz, my heart was broken open with love for these helpless, gentle and beautiful creatures. I have been expanding my shelter to create warm, fun and open spaces for the bunnies to change their lives just as they have changed mine.

Being of service to them and seeing them thrive has been a true joy.

They are unconditional with their love and they have taught me how to be gentle and kind in a subtle and sincere way. They are my teachers and I continue to learn from them.

Isabella has a sixth sense. She has premonitions of danger such as an earthquake or predators and notifies her friends.

She thumps its back leg loudly over and over again to courteously warn other rabbits and us of any imminent danger it perceives.

Her nurturing love extends beyond her floppy ears and being a cute Dutch Rabbit. She is a fun playmate for all her friends, and she loves apples.

This is Bella. She was rescued 4 years ago and recently developed a rare, unknown condition that caused paralysis in her lower extremities.

During the past few years, we have managed her pain and been able to improve her quality of life through the use of acupuncture, pain medication, and lots of love.

Bella's greatest joy is to be held and taken on walks.

Our journey was inspired and started with this beautiful little guy, Bunz! He was rescued on Jumeirah Beach in Dubai, and eventually sent to Santa Monica in the US! So began the tale and adventures of our rescue center, St. Francis Animal Shelter. We are now located in sunny Los Angeles, California and with your support have served hundreds of animals, primarily abandoned and abused rabbits, in the past 14 years.
