I wanted to share a floral arranging workshop that we are putting together in October for kids. Here is the link to the sign-up genius.

•There are two timeslots to choose from one from 10 AM to 12 PM and another one from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM so we can accommodate your littles and their lunch snack and nap times.

•We will be offering two options option one is a mason jar arrangement for $35 and the other option is a hollowed out pumpkin to be used as a vase for $45. We also are providing optional small craft pumpkin and witch hats sticks to add to your arrangement to make it more festive

•Not only will the kids be able to learn about locally grown flowers, and learn how to put them together by creating their own art. They will also learn about why locally grown flowers are so important to not only our community, but to the pollinators that live in our community.

•On our urban farm, we focus education on beneficial insects to teach people the difference between good bugs and bad bugs. Without pollinators 35% of our food would not be able to be produced. We need them as much as they need us.

This flower takes months and months to bloom from seed. This is lisianthus. The variety is voyage and the color is lavender. I only planted about 10 this year just to see if they are worth the long growing and labor intensive season. Yes, yes they absolutely are.

•We have two running starting Monday August 5th- 26th. Another one will begin in Sept, as well as Oct, and end in Nov.

• We are offering a DIY CSA and a premade bouquet wrapped in decorative sustainable floral wraps.

•••The diy will be 20 stems of our organically grown blooms delivered to you to design yourself.

• ••The other CSA will be a medium sized pre made arrangement valued at $50 delivered for four consecutive weeks for only $105!! That’s a savings of over $95!!

• The delivery schedule is Monday early evening unless a Friday evening drop off is preferred.

It’s dahlia season y’all! All of these were grown from tuber or seed organically and this is just the beginning. We have about 100 other varieties that we are still waiting to bloom. Most of those are in our former front lawn tured urban flower farm.
