The Rescue Train’s deep-rooted goals are to be a voice for animals and to help save as many lives as possible.

The Rescue Train is a unique, non-profit 501(c)(3) no-kill organization dedicated to eliminating animal suffering and euthanasia through hands-on rescue work, education and awareness. We fulfill our mission through our key initiatives: rescue and rehome, shelter intervention, dedication to spay and neuter, and collaboration with other like-minded organizations. We aim to drastically reduce the num

ber of animals entering kill shelters and animals living on the streets of Los Angeles. Many of our life-saving programs help lay a foundation of lasting change through community outreach and celebrate the human-animal bond. Our Shelter intervention Program and Pet Pantry prevent animals from entering Los Angeles City shelters by providing resources to low income, senior citizens, veterans and homeless pet owners. We offer free spay and neuter to help solve pet overpopulation at the root of the problem. Our Pet Care Clinics go into areas of poverty to provide resources that includes vaccines, grooming, referrals to vet care, pet food and supplies.

🚨Who can help me? 🚨 If you look into my eyes you can see how soulful I am. I need an angel to help me. 🙏

They are calling me Blacky Animal ID and they said I got hit by a car. I’m an intact male, pretty small (under 20 #). I’ve been at East Valley Animal Shelter since July 1. Here’s my shelter notes:

🐾 Heart, lungs sound ok.
🐾 Under observation at this time.

🎇 Fireworks May Seem Fun, But They’re Harmful to Our Animal Friends! 🚫

Fireworks explode like gunfire in the sensitive ears to all creatures:

🐾 COMPANION ANIMALS suffer anxiety & panic attacks.
😨 HUMANS with PTSD are triggered by noise.
🐦‍⬛ BIRDS experience panic attacks at night, causing mass death.
🐝 BEES become disoriented and don’t return to their hives.
🦨 WILD ANIMALS raising babies become fearful and abandon their dens.
🐟 FISH perish after ingesting firework debris.

Please, stop using fireworks! Let’s protect our fellow beings and choose safer ways to celebrate.

One day, Chispita ended up in a shelter, injured with road burns, likely from being hit by a car, and her owner was nowhere to be found. A concerned relative, who had cared for Chispita before, learned about her situation and was determined to help despite limited funds. Thankfully, the shelter staff connected her with The Rescue Train’s Keep Your Pet Project. Together, we provided the necessary vet care and helped Chispita heal, giving her a second chance at a happy life.💓

🐱🐱🐱🐱It was a good day! Thanks to two angels 😇Molly and 😇Nicole for stepping up to foster urgent underage from the shelter, and - kitten lives were saved and I got to play a small part in it. 🥰
The animal shelters need our help. They are overflowing with kittens that need or , and dogs are lining the hallways in crates - big dogs like huskies, little dogs too. If you can foster, please go to the shelter, or let me know, I will help you get started! ❤️

Alder! Blue eyes… all three kittens still have blue eyes. They were born at the shelter so their exact birthday is known (4/18/24) but their eyes still haven’t changed color and they are the size of 5 week olds - healthy per the vet, just small!

🚨COURTESY POST - BUNNIES NEED HELP - LOS ANGELES🚨

A wonderful supporter needs some BUNNY to help her. A couple of weeks ago a black bunny started hanging around her building and soon after, his grey buddy showed up. They are clearly house bunnies.🐰🐰

With the help of a neighbor, they were finally able to capture both, hoping to take them to a bunny rescue. Sadly, all bunny rescues are full.

Right now they’re safe in a pen in her living room but they really need a FURever home. Let’s share so they can find some bunny to adopt them! 🐇♥️

Mayor Bass’ city budget hearing schedule has been released for the coming week, and each department will have a hearing to review and consider the Mayor’s proposed budget changes for 2024-2025. LA Animal Services is on the agenda for committee review on Monday, May 6th, however, TODAY, May 1, is the only day for public comment ‼️

IF ANIMAL WELFARE in Los Angeles is important to you, please urge the Mayor to increase spay/neuter funding and increase voucher amounts so more veterinarians can take them and get costs covered.

I urge you to prioritize funding for LA Animal Services’ spay and neuter programs and expand voucher amounts for veterinarians. Lives depend on it.
